Does a power supply effect performance? I was thinking about getting a 800W one, instead of a 750W. Any recommendations are appreciated. Specs are in the sig of what I got so far, you can use that to evaluate the right power wattage.

EDIT: Also in general, is the config below good enough for moderate gaming? I use a lot of the adobe suite too, video editing, rendering, all that good stuff. Mostly gaming though, I just want a solid PC to be able to handle anything I throw at it.

A power supply doesn't effect performance, unless it's not enough and the you'd know it with crashes, BSOD, etc.   Upping the wattage won't give you any better gaming.   It only feeds what's asked of it for the most part.

Just saw the edit... that is a strong gaming rig.   If you game on a single 1920x1080 then it'll give you top performance with most games.

Jeez, you guys like staring at the forums everyday? Haha, I like it. Thanks for the quick response.

Anyway, I hear ya. Since i'm OCing my processor, would it be necessary to upgrade it by 50W?

EDIT: Just saw your edit, I emailed DS and they recommended an ASUS monitor, 24 inches, and 2ms response time with an led backlight I believe. It'll be better than heaven when I get it.

One thing that you may wish to add to your shopping list is a Uniterruptable Power Supply (UPS). Look for one with a battery backup and able to handle the wattage of whichever PSU you decide upon. The idea is to have something sitting between your power plug and your PC that smooths out line noise, power surges, and power sags. (Think of a water filter on your tap water faucet.) The battery should provide enough power for a smooth, and orderly shutdown of the PC should power drop altogether. The battery should also allow your PC to operate through a brief power outage, such as when a transformer is zapped by lightning and the power company switches around the now smoldering piece of equipment.
