Budget:
$3,000 Expectations: Arma 3/Titanfall Ultra settings Usage: Gaming/normal use Special Needs: [Please Type Here] Saved Ticket #: 1005622 Built this virtue just debating on pulling the trigger. Am I going way overkill? I wanted the 780ti just so down the road in a few years if needed I could throw another in. 3k is my budget but I'm trying to be realistic if something way cheaper would give me what I'm looking for then I would prefer that. Can you change the 770 on the Vanquish Lvl 4 to a 780ti? or no b/c they are premade? |

Save yourself most of $99 and order and install yourself, one additional Corsair 140mm High Airflow fan. The case comes with one 140mm fan in front and one 120mm in back. That leaves two top fan ports, which will be used for the CPU cooler, and one front one. Fans are easy to install, just four screws and one cable to plug into a motherboard header.
No, the Vanquish systems are pre-built and shipped as they are. First for graphics advice we need to know what resolution you are planning on running. I think that most people who plan future SLI, end up just upgrading to a newer graphics card in the end. Not all games support SLI, so you should research to see if your games do. A quick search showed SLI issues with Arma 3 at least last year. It does look like Titanfall will support it. Another thing to consider is that Nvidia is expected to release 800 series cards with the newer Maxwell GPUs in Q4. This most likely will not happen until at least November. Also, at 4k resolutions Nvidia cards are running about 5% lower frames than comparable AMD cards. Here is a recent buyers guide for graphics cards: http://www.anandtech.com/show/8225/best-video-cards-june-2014 With all the above said, if you keep waiting for the next new thing, you will never upgrade. ;-) Edited by danjw1 - 06 Jul 2014 at 5:11am |

Thanks for the advice I will just purchase the fan myself
1440p..yea I read about the SLI issues w/ Arma, however they have noted the issues and plan to address. SLI is a down the road thing for me anyways as I'm sure the 780ti will do me fine. I hear you on the waiting thing, I'm playing now on a 3yr old gaming laptop that runs everything on low settings w/ 30 FPS..its brutal, hence the no longer waiting |
