Chris, do you use on board sound or do you have a sound card? If I disable my sound card the game plays (no sound). When I enable the card for this game it will say Bioshock.exe not working. I tried everything on the Bioshock forums to remedy this but to no avail.

ouch, i game on a laptop, so i use onboard sound. I did some research, and it seems your problem is common. if you're using a creative sound blaster card this could be a temporary fix:

btw, i'll look around the 'net for a solution for you...i'll post the link when i find something, this could be valuable info for me as well in the future, 'cause i want to add a souncard in my next comp.

edit: found something you might want to try, if you haven't done this already. Plug in something into your microphone port. The user who tried this said it worked, and then others tried it and also said it worked.

another edit (lol), i got a friend of mine to try it, he gets the same problem you have, so he plugs a pair of headphones into the microphone jack in his card, and it works with full sound !!! Heart...hopefully that works for you
