So after alot of drooling and talking to another family member who wants a new computer. Ive decided to go ahead and give them my current computer in my sig and order up a new one for my self.
Heres my current config i'm just waiting on Sarah to get back to me on a few questions I've got but this is basically it. Ill prob be put on the waiting list for a fixed SB board. This will be my second computer from digital storm hopefully this one goes a bit smoother than the first one, i had pretty bad stability issues that digital storm fixed for me. *final build is down further* Edited by RiceEatin2000GT - 23 Mar 2011 at 1:36pm |

yea just go with normal ram. evga superclocked is nothing you can have ds overclock them if you want for free.
everything else looks pretty good. if you can wait till the end of the year the sb high end socket will have 2 extra cores for the price of the i7 now... but you probably can't and i won't either when i get the money. |

originally this is what i was thinking of doing. My dad has some old POS dell he cant stand and was gonna order a mid range SB unit from DS and then by the end of the year i would prob get the newer socket 2011 stuff. Only problem with that is id feel terrible having this computer now just sitting in some closet for it being just 3 years old lol. Atleast this way its still gonna get used. |

And it'll still be better than a DELL.
I wonder what socket 2011 is going to cost. Probably not nearly as affordable as the current SB offerings, but still... more...cores...eeeeeeeeeeeeee |

that was part of my fear, things costing more money and having to sacrifice some gpu power to keep the cost some what close to 3500$ and in the long run have a computer that doesnt game as good. |

its my understanding it will cost about the same as the current i7. the dual core lines will go to quad cores too I think so it should b the same.

well i spoke to sarah today a bit ill prob have the system ordered today(friday) or probaly monday. One question though looking at the board layout, obviously the 2 video cards will work but will there be enough room for my sound card? Theres 2 pci-e 1x slots, one in the middle of the 2 cards and one on top. Im sure DS will tell me if theres a problem when they build it if theres one

Alex just saying if you wanted to make life slightly easier for your customers you should think about making a optional system to email the current notes for the build daily... Just an idea.
