Due out the same day my Extreme 3 is scheduled to arrive and yes I'm planning on getting it.

Still playing BF2 on a 7 year old Alienw***. Cant wait to see how BF2 looks on the Extreme 3.

BF2 looked considerably better when I got my new DS rig. But gameplay was where I noticed it the most. Plus I'm half way across the map before most people get in the game.

 
Hoping OF2 is less "realistic" than ARMA2. Too much realism seems to make for a boring game. 10 minute chopper rides to a hot spot is boring no matter how realistic it is.

Ah, but it's what you do in that chopper on that 10 minute ride that makes it fun.

I spent a good 7 years playing the BF series, from BF1942 when it was first released all the way through every mod and into BF2142, and all I did was pilot for the clan (-=OCC_Crusader=- was my handle).  Me and another friend co-founded this clan that had about 36 people from all over the US.  Our servers were in Dallas TX. and we were specifically a BF clan and mainly the BF Desert Combat mod.

The fun I had with the choppers... tee hee!  Choppers were something to warm-up on until the good dogfights took place.  Those were some great times gaming till the wee hours of the morn.  Can't do that anymore

Have to agree with ya Doc. There's such a thing as too much realism.
One of the reasons I still play BF2.....

So, do you have a program that tells you how many FPS you're getting?

yea fraps it was avg 80 on the first mission i got around 65-70 for the second mission

Why do they put a great game like this out without dedicated servers?

Have yet to find a playable server for more than 10 minutes before it either crashes, lags out, or the creator's mom makes him get off the computer and do his homework.
