Ok, we need to know a few things as there some things in your build that need to be change. Most important being what resolution will you be playing at? 1680x1050? 1900x1200? It makes a big difference. Unless you are playing at a large enough resolution the x79 platform is not needed or recommended.

Also I noticed you chose the Blue internal lighting. Choosing that will not change the fact that the HAF X has a red LED front fan. The light for that fan can be turned off if you don't want both colors. If you really want a blue case there is the HAF X Blue Edition that DS can special order for you or you can order it and have it shipped to DS. You'll have to call for special pricing. The HAF X Blue Edition will have blue front, side and rear fans.

Almost forgot, why did you choose Win7 Ultimate. It's an added expense that you can avoid unless there is a specific reason you need it.

to be honest im going to wait for the new 30" OLED tvs/monitors to come out either the end of this year or the beg of next year so i guess my best answer is im going to buy the best screen to fit my computer. i plan on getting three of them within the next 2 years

A couple things, avoid using a TV as a monitor. They are in no way the same thing and a proper monitor will provide better quality.

Edit:

Ok for your budget you are going to have to go with the ODE 4. To do a proper custom build you're looking at over $4,000. The only issue is that even x2 7970's will not handle multiple 30" monitors. You're going to need to add a third 7970 later when you get additional monitors.

But in order to add a third 7970 you will also have to upgrade your power supply to a 1200w or better unit.

Read my edited post, I had to rethink things due to your budget. Win7 Home Premium does not suffer from RAM issues like XP used to. You can use a full 16GB of system RAM plus your VRAM on Win7 Home Premium. The 16GB limit does not include VRAM like the old XP limits did.

The thing is the 7970 is not bad, it's just not all that powerful for it's price. A x3 GTX 570 2.5GB set up will beat a x2 7970 set up in both performance and cost (based on retail price of the cards) but due to the deep discounts on the ODE line the ODE 4 will actually fit in your budget.

I personally would recommend a custom build but again it's going to be around $4k.

It has a better case with better air cooling for the GPUs. A better SSD, and better HDD and a better GPU set up with x3 SLI. It's not too far over your budget and it is what I would recommend over the ODE 4.

You're more then welcome. That custom build I linked will crush anything you throw at it and will out perform the ODE 4. IMO it looks better too. The HAF X is an imposing case. Just make sure to go and select your lighting options, I did not check anything for that so you could choose it yourself.

Ok cool... 1 question. Is paying the extra 250$ for stage 4 LC worth it? for $3800 i dont mind paying more for it to look a lot more bad ass even if it adds a slight performance boost.

Yes Stage 4 LC is very much worth it. It has better temps then the H100 and looks much better.

If you are going to wait that long everything going to change because the new Nvidia GPUs will be out by then and that will affect the pricing. So it's up to you if you want to wait and risk it no longer being in your price range because the new Nvidia GPUs will be more expensive.

I think the build you linked with the Stage 4 will be sufficient for your uses. Going with LC on the GPUs can be tricky if you don't know how to deal with the LC in the off chance you need to remove one of the GPUs or something.

Going with LC on the CPU fine since you are not going to remove the CPU on your own. But say 2 years from now when it's time to upgrade your GPUs you would have to mess with the LC which is not fun.

There is one option that would look even better. The is a special Nvidia HAF X Edition that is green and black with a green fan light. If you add the UV light to that you would have green + purple which makes me think of the Joker.

The side panel is also tinted green instead of clear and has the Nvidia logo on it. If I was going to special order a case that's what I'd get.
