Now what needs to happen is that the 580 gets a big price reduction and becomes the most viable card on the market But this won't happen, ever.

The power consumption is even lower than the gtx 570! Makes for way easier upgrade options at a budget.

Yeah criTalon it is a really attractive card. However, I actually thought it would beat the 7970 by a bit more. It really didn't beat it by too much except for Battlefield 3. But it's a no brainer when you consider price and the GTX 680 is $50 cheaper.

I'm sure AMD will respond by bringing their prices a bit more inline with Nvidia's.

So in time when the ODE-3 needs the 570s replaced...we could put in 680s w/o messing with the power supply?

Proud owner of an ODE-3 (version 1).

I suspect the next ODE 3 cards will be the next to be released gtx 650/660 cards, comparable to gtx 570. But, that's just speculation on my part. .

Looking forward to the 650/660 release. Hoping they keep the power usage down on the "lower end" cards.
