A friend sent me this article from NetworkWorld today.

It specifically mentions OEMs won't be able to sell Win 7 pre-installed after this Friday.  I assume this includes Digital Storm?  They can apparently sell a system downgraded to Win 7 Pro, however.

If so, you Win 7 Home Premium fanboys better get your orders in this week. Evil

Who still uses Win 7? Old people need to learn to upgrade... And if you do use win 7, why the heck isn't it ultimate?

um i'm currently using Windows 7...mainly because i don't think windows 8 was out yet when i bought my machine.

It's like 2 cents to upgrade lol. To be fair I only did it a couple of months ago.

Only 2 cents? Meh when i am able to purchase my next computer it will be windows 8.1 in the meantime i'll leave windows 7 on here

I went from XP to 8.1 ... I was prepared to hate 8.1 from all the negative reviews and talk. But, to be fair, coming from XP means it's going to be a whole new ballgame so there wasn't any Win7 hate.

It just worked out. I guess there is a good point to using XP for all this time.

(Full Disclosure: I still use 7 at the office, but since my browsing and productivity is severely limited on that machine, I never even notice the differences. )

Yes - I use Win7 at work so I'm not totally behind the time.  My current computer is 8 yrs old and wouldn't be able to run Win8.  The thing is, I'll probably order my new computer around Thanksgiving so I'll only be on 8.1 for less than half a year when 10 comes out (and I'll upgrade to that).
