Hi everyone. I hope you all had a great weekend. Mine started with a restless night and then the decision to buy a new rig :)
Our current computer is dying a very slow death. It's been suffering for close to 2 years now where we can't run two graphic-intense things at one time (playing an MMO with youtube or whatever in the background as an example). In any case, I'm getting the Vanquish II (level 1-but may upgrade) and am anxiously awaiting its arrival. It's in stage 1 right now, so I have a ways to go. That just gives me time to backup all of our files (music, steam downloads, art, images, video) onto our external. I am curious, though. Am I the only one who gets excited/obsessed about decluttering their life and files before getting a new computer? |

Hi Kyva,
Welcome to the Digital Storm family. I always get excited about a new computer and that will never change. I save Email list, photos, games and Outlook. Then I just let everything else go. I have lost a lot of stuff over the years but always a lot of new stuff to acquire. Frank |

I totally understand what you mean. I'm sure I've lost loads of things in the past. The last time I had to get a new PC, our old one died/refused to work after a system pack update from Microsoft (I was trying to upgrade to Windows 7, but it needed the packs installed first).
I did backup beforehand, but not as much as I'm doing now. It's amazing how much digital data you acquire in just a few years. Edited by Kyva - 17 Nov 2014 at 8:49am |

I decided to call DS on Monday and upgrade to level 2 so I can play future games at a higher quality.
Interestingly enough, I was at Stage 1 on Saturday (with my level 1) and was approved of paying the difference on level 2 on Monday. It went to stage 7 yesterday (no other stages mentioned). I was worried that maybe they pushed the level 1 through, so I called to confirm. Nope, my level 2 was all set and actually shipped last night! It has a long journey, but it looks like I'll be getting it early next week. I'm loving my experience with DS so far. |

Kyva ... welcome to the DS family!!
Stage 1 - Stage 7 is very quick on the Vanquish because the machines are pre-biult and simply need to be tested. Stage 1 is payment, a quick assemble and stress test, and off to shipping it goes.
It's pretty much the basic model and, if I'm not mistaken, the biggest seller in terms of units moved.
It's a very good machine, level 1 through level 4, and quite the gamer.
Cheers.

Thanks so much :)
I'm eagerly awaiting its arrival. Fedex is now telling me the next update won't be for two days, so I'm guessing it's going to be on a place sometime today. I need to check the dimensions so I can find a nice home for it when it gets here. |

Oh good, it'll fit. It may stick out front a tiny bit, but no more than an inch.
Thanks :) |

Out for delivery :)
Now, to listen for the signs of any truck parking outside. *hears one* Nope. Meat delivery truck for the deli. Another truck. Not that one either. Just the mailman. Today will be an interesting day. But you know what sucks? We're supposed to get around a foot of snow tomorrow. Our luck, the power will go out and we won't get to play until Thursday. |

Yeah, 5-10 inches here tomorrow and my power supply to get my rig up and running is supposed to show. Keep it dry, USPS. Let us know how it goes. |

Fedex is taking forever today. Now I'm starting to worry they won't deliver until I head off to work.
