Alex, is the SSD just configured for system files and Windows or can I also store applications on it? Also, is the motherboard that comes with the ODE V2 Level 4 have WiFi built in?
Thank you in advance for your response. I'm very close to ordering, just don't know if it is beneficial to wait for the Ivy Bridge processors. If I'm not mistaken, the ones at launch will be only slightly more powerful than the i7 2700

@FLCarguy, you can use the SSD for applications as well. We recommend installing all of your user data, photos, videos, etc... on the larger storage drive. You can install applications on the SSD, just be careful of the free space that gets left over. Also, the systems may be updated to newer Intel 3rd generation CPUs when they are released. @Traxstar, awesome! Welcome to the family of customers.

And good news about Ivy chips, at least for us gaming folks
ntel said Tuesday that it would announce its first Core processors based on the Ivy Bridge microarchitecture next week, and the first chips won't be for Ultrabooks, but will be quad-core parts for high-end desktops and laptops.

Dumb question: I'm assuming this would mean a corresponding price increase for the ODE line? In which case, how long do you guys expect the current configurations/pricing to last?

That's a great question, we really won't know until the specs/prices are updated. Hopefully they stay the same. We'll know by the end of this month.

I see that you just placed your order, you can put your order on hold if you wish, that way we don't build it, etc until the updates are done and you call us back? Also, the systems do feature the Z77 chipset, so you can always upgrade the CPU with the 3rd generation down the road as well.

I guess the thrust of my question was this: I'm really digging the new ODE V2 Level 4 option right now and will likely be in the market to order such that I have a new comp in time for D3. If the ODE line were to get changed again with the release of the Ivy Bridge processors, and maintains the current pricing scheme it is obviously a no brainer to hold on my purchase. On the other hand, if incorporating the IB CPU's to the ODE line significantly increases costs, I figure I might as well order it sooner rather later such that I can start enjoying it with other games. Thoughts?

It's honestly not that far away, and, if you want to be sure, you might as well just have your order on hold.

So if want to be sure I don't miss out on this Ode v2 Level 4 (in the case that the prices get bumped with the update to IB), should I order it and put it on hold until then? Would that even work? Am I just being crazy?
EDITED for grammar.

If you didn't order yet and want to wait for the IB update, I recommend just waiting them. If you already placed an order and are interested in IB, I recommend just having us place your order on hold since we already have all of the details.

I have been looking at the ODE Level 4 also, since it basically has everything I am looking for except 16 GB of ram, and 180GB minimum SSD. Now all I am waiting on is an update to the Ivy Bridge CPU's and a few reviews to see if there is any benefit of the GTX 680 enabling PCIe- 3.0 when running on a Z77 Motherboard vs a GTX 680 and 2700K on the same motherboard.

Although not 100% confirmed, everything is pointing to the 3770K being at the same price point as 2770K, so even if it is a marginal improvement, it seems logical to get the latest and greatest.

Side note too, you mentioned changing the ODE config, wanted to point out there is a $50 fee (plus component cost) to change an ODE. And I think that is per change. So you might get dinged for a $100 for the RAM + SSD. Alex can confirm.

I your answer was directed to me, then I wasn't thinking about changing the config.
In my case the difference between what I want and what the ODE Level 4 has is so small that I am willing to take the less memory and smaller SSD. I can always add a second SSD and more ram later.

Correct, usually when we approve changes, it's a $50 fee per change.
