Hi guys, just purchased my Digital Storm Vanquish II level 3 build. Super excited for it, and it's already at stage 7 so I hope it gets shipped out soon. I also have been using windows 7 for ages, and I'm not going to be used to Windows 8.1 at all. Is it hard to learn? I mainly use my computer for music production /and gaming so I hope it doesn't have any trouble with my music software in Windows 8.1. But anyways, I'm super excited!!!

I as well was extremely scared to make the move to windows 8.1.
Being a long time user of 7 (and enjoying it) it was hard to make the choice. In the end though.. the result is great. I love windows 8.1 even more then I ever loved windows 7. The learning curve may be a challenge to some but if you are even somewhat adept with computers you will catch on very fast. Hope this helps! Forgot to mention I haven't done a lot of downloading but from what I have done I've seen no compatibility issues so far. Edited by Ashrilex - 17 Mar 2015 at 2:15pm |

Windows 8.1 has been annoying. I simply can't understand how I can't have some of these new fangled apps, like mail in a normal windowed mode. Mail is something you often copy stuff from to other programs, or have side by side with something else you are looking for.
Maybe I am missing something. |

Thanks guys! I am super excited! And hopefully I'll learn Windows 8.1 in no time. It shouldn't be that big of a deal. Does Digital Storm have fast shipping usually? I'm so anxious! Haha...

The mail app is a separate thing from 'normal' mail and is designed to be used with a MS account to give you one place to manage all your mail accounts. http://windows.microsoft.com/en-us/windows-8/mail-app-tutorial https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/office/fp161135.aspx NOTE: the second link is more from a user's perspective. Took me a while to figure it out, also. But, now I can use it for Hotmail, live, outlook and yahoo. Didn't mean to hijack the thread. Edited by Pacesetter - 17 Mar 2015 at 4:55pm |

I install Start 8 on all my computers running Win 8.1
Gives you a lot of control over the start page and skips the metro screen when you boot. Just like booting into Win 7. They have a 30 day trial also. If you like a clutter free desktop then Fences is a nice addition from the same company Stardock. It groups all your desktop icons and with a simple double click you can hide everything but the wallpaper. Looks very clean. |

Clay--I don't think they give the t shirt free anymore--I didn't see an option but for to buy. They could raise the price of everything by about a dollar each if they needed to and could easily cover the cost...

Is fences like object dock ? I use Object Dock with Windows 7 and simply it is fantastic. I have not one icon that shows on my desktop. Well maybe some that are hidden.
