Budget: 2.5-3K (flexible) Expectation: To modernize now dead Q6600 with SLI Nvdia 8800GTS 512MB Usage: Gaming (First Person Shooters) RPGs (Skyrim, Fallout), Web surfing with lots of windows open - eventual gaming on Home theater Monitor: Current 27" 1920x1200 Will probably eventually add a second 24" monitor.
The DS system I purchased 4 years ago had one video card, but added the second after the next gen cards came out. If I don't SLI now, I will do that later.
While I can add things later, I usually don't - the SLI being the exception (I have a copy of Windows 7 64 Pro that I was going to create a dual boot that is still shrink -wrapped).
I am torn by the ODE 4 and the Dreadnaught. The ODE4 has just about everything I want, but as my wife says - $500 spread out over 4 years is nothing if you get what you want.
Last, I want to salvage the 3 HDD from my last machine and just plug them into the new one. Not sure if that would be any different between the HAF and the ODE
Here is what I have:
Ticket Number: 701989
Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X Exterior Finish: - Standard Factory Finish Trim Accents: - Standard Factory Finish Processor: Intel Core i7 3770K 3.50 GHz (Unlocked CPU) (Quad Core) (Requires Z77 Motherboard) Motherboard: ASUS P8Z77-V DELUXE (Intel Z77 Chipset) (Higher Overclocks and Unique Wi-Fi Features) System Memory: 16GB DDR3 1600MHz Digital Storm Certified Performance Series (Highly Recommended) (Hand Tested) Power Supply: 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible) Expansion Bay: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (180GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 520 Series) Set 1 Raid Options: - No Thanks Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: 1x (1TB Western Digital Caviar (7200 RPM) (Model: Black Edition) Hard Drive Set 3: Backup\Misc.: - No Thanks Optical Drive 1: Blu-Ray & DVD Writer/Reader (Burn + Play Blu-Ray & DVDs) (12x BD-R) Optical Drive 2: - No Thanks Internet Access: High Speed Network Port (Supports High-Speed Cable / DSL / Network Connections) Video Card: 1x NVIDIA GeForce GTX 670 2GB (Includes PhysX) Add-on Card: - No Thanks Sound Card: Integrated Motherboard Audio Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 Extreme Performance H20 Tube Color:- Not Applicable, I do not have a FrostChill or Sub-Zero LCS Cooling System Selected Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Red) Enhancements: - No Thanks Chassis Mods: - No Thanks Noise Reduction: - No Thanks LaserMark: - No Thanks Boost Processor: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires Pro/Deluxe/Sabertooth Motherboard) Boost Video Card: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my video card(s) Boost Memory: - No Thanks, Please do not overclock my memory Boost OS: - No Thanks, Please do not tweak the services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD) Virus Protection: - No Thanks Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks External Storage: - No Thanks Exclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Extra Large) Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 10-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty
Thoughts are welcome. I purposely went with 16gig memory because it is cheap.

Hi Bubbalotski........This config is right on. If you want another thought on this config compared to ODE4....... The ODE 4 for $300 less has sli, 2x gtx 670 which is a big boost for you and saves $400 later adding another card. For a possible 2nd monitor setup it will be nice. But, your build has a better case., power supply, more ram.,cpu cooler and larger SSD. Tough call. This custom build is real nice, so a tough call on your part. Good luck

The person on the phone did not know anything about a military discount. Not sure what I need to show to get it - going on 23 years in the Army now.

I talked to my builder who I worked with on placing my order. They took care of it for me.

We're more than happy to provide one, we publicly don't have one as of yet. Please email John (John@digitalstormonline.com) with your order details, he'll help you out.
