Running Win8 Pro with an on-board NIC connection with my 1mth old machine. I have the O/S set to sleep. I say half the time when my machine comes out of sleep mode, I don't have a network connection to the Internet. I try the Win8 connection trouble shooter and am told that an IP has not been assigned. All drivers are up to date. Would an NIC card solve the issue? I'm thinking with an IP not being assigned it maybe a router issue, but my other machines (Win 7) do not have the sleep/IP issue. Just looking for a second opinion. Thanks in advance.
