... UPS damaged my package and   dented the case. Basically the computer leans toward the damaged side and the panel isn't flush with the case. Fan was also loose when I removed the instapak basically exposing the cpu and smudging the thermal compound. Already sent an email with pics to customer service and since today is Friday, looks like I'd have to wait until next week to get this resolved.   Thanks UPS, there goes my short vacation

Ouch, I'm sorry man.

Now you have to go through that killer wait again... which as I've heard is the worst part of the entire process.

I'm sure DS will accommodate and it's also my fault for not thoroughly checking when I signed off. Didn't help the fact that delivery guy had the damaged side facing down. I'm more upset at the fact that the UPS screw up will put me at three more weeks for transit back to DS, rebuild and shipping back to me but I digress.

It looks to me that only the case is damaged but it must've been quite the jolt and impact directly to the device if it dislodged the fan given how robust those mounting flanges are. Back to the box the system went.

I know DS has shipped packages way farther east than where I am at (IL) and I really don't mind paying a few more bucks if it meant for the device to get to me blemish-free.

I'm sure DS have shipped a lot of packages using the current packaging setup just fine. I have no doubt if the cardboard fillers used were Styrofoam, my system would have faired better but but who knows? Given the size of gash on the packaging, I don't thin anything would've been fine
