I would like to convert DVDs to mp4 in order to transfer to my tablet to use when I travel and do not always have access to DVD players. I discovered DVDAid on several websites that recommended it as the best and simplest ripping software. I had already tried Handbrake with no success.

Strange.  I've had no issues with Handbrake, but I use it in combination with AnyDVD HD.  Was Handbrake failing because of DRM on the discs?  That I would expect since Handbrake doesn't have a way to bypass that, if I recall.

I also use AnyDVD HD to rip the disks and then I use handbrake to put the file in the MP4 container
