Ok, so there's three different kinds of ASUS X99 motherboards, but there's two different kinds of audio on them. There's Realtek® ALC1150 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC featuring Crystal Sound 2 and ROG SupremeFX 8-Channel High Definition Audio CODEC. Which is better?

I have used the ALC 1180 and it does a good job.
I did some checking on reviews and especially what real people say about the two based on their experience. From what I gather I think a lot depends on the total computer set-up. Some people say on both "it sounds tinny" (high frequency). Others love the one they have. IMO check all the other features of the motherboards and make a decision based on that rather than the sound and with good speakers you should be happy. |
