Recently got my new rig and have the following cards:
Graphics Card(s): 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 980 4GB (ASUS Strix Edition). Can I get some recommendations on good monitors? I am looking for 27" 1440p. I'd go with the ROG Swifts, but don't really want to spend the ~800 on them. Thanks in advance! |

@Nav - Would love to be under 500, especially since I'd eventually probably get 3 of them.
@db188 - Thanks, I will look into that line. And should have mentioned it initially, but I'll be using them for Web Development, so Photoshop/Fireworks, as well as Premiere Pro video editing and then of course, gaming. In that order. |

You may want to look for more professional monitors with programmable look-up tables (LUT) to precisely calibrate the color and gamma of it.

I personally used this 27" IPS panel before switching to my 4K monitor and loved it.

I use the Viewsonic vp2770. Hands down one of the best ips 27" 2560x1440p monitors. Has the best input lag i believe for a ips 27inch. I dont see anything during gaming, no ghosting or lag. I have compared it to the PB28Q in person and i like my viewsonic alot more.

if you really want to game on an IPS-style monitor and can't wait for all of the new tech to come out in March and later, than i'd say for the best gaming experience on IPS right now is the Eizo FG2421.
it's a 120hz MVA panel with a turbo mode that doubles the frames (so 240hz effective). turbo mode basically uses a back light strobing tech (which all introduce a little more input lag) w/o the brightness problems associated with LightBoost screens; however, the total input lag for both modes is under 16ms, so it shouldn't be problematic for gamers. |
