Loved it. Played it for a year, right after TF2.
 
I got into a good group of Steam friends, talented players, and we did a lot of pubbie stomping. I also played pubbie when I couldn't get a group together.I can understand how being on THAT end of the game can be not so fun.
 
Versus ruled, though, it was the best way to play it.
 
As for Left4Dead2, yeah, I'll be buying it.

My problem is I was just comming off of an enjoyable experience playing bioshock and was looking for a satisfying single player experience and the single player is basically just practice for multiplayer so thats what sorely disapointed me. For hardcore multiplayer junkies I'm sure it's great though.

ah, well, L4D's strength is in the multiplayer. Believe me, multiplayer Versus (where one team plays the Survivors, one team plays the Infected) is insanely fun. The single player game is just okay, good practice for MP, but not anywhere close to being as good as Bioshock (one of my favorites, too).
 
It's hard to recommend another game after Bioshock, almost anything is going to be a letdown . . .

Playing with competent humans is so much better than crappy AI.

I have been playing the Left 4 Dead 2 demo for a few days now.  Single player blows, but get online and the multiplayer is great fun. I don't know if I will buy it cause I have an insane amount of games that I am half way through... lol.
 
Have you played Fallout 3? OMG.... That is a game that was amazing. It is one of the few games I have every played where I just could not stop playing it until I finished it.

  Yeah, I started it on my old rig, all the settings for graphics were on low, then a week later my DS rig arrived, everything is incredibly high def now! Then I found out there are 2 expansion packs that I don't have so they're now on order and I'll wait for them so I can play the GOTY pack without paying for the base game again. I got The Pitt pack for $9- and the other for $12-, free shipping. Meanwhile I'm keeping busy with Dragon Age, lots and lots of movies and multiple choice question & answers. It reminds me of Oblivion but with dialogue and back story on steroids.
