Looking for a laptop to play when I am away from my PC. I don't want to spend a ton of money probably at most around 2,000. You can see my current PC below and I would love for my Laptop to run pretty much the same as what I have. Also I like a slimmer laptop and would want and LED keyboard. I couldn't decide on which DS laptop to get yet and would love any and all suggestions.

Forbus, Krypton or Harker would all be good. A bit smaller the Avon. I'd suggest finding the one that appeals to you most (asthetics) then look at the specs and do a config, save the config and post the config number back here and we can get specific. |

Correct, laptops are quite easy that way. You just need to pick the size and style you like, then you can select the components that best suit your needs.

I can price you something close to your desktop. Processor is better, but the card is very slightly inferior. To get equal-or-slightly greater performance to your desktop 960, you'd need to go for a 980M.
This configuration 117368 has a 970M (slightly inferior to the desktop 960) to bring it under your $2K limit. However, the processor is better than your 4590 and in some script-heavy, good-AI games, that will make a difference. Also it's a 17.3" model and I'm not sure how portable you're hoping to make the laptop, but I prefer larger models so I can get a good-sized screen when I'm on the road. I would say go with a Krypton, Harker or Avon as the Triton and Forbus use a screen that some reviewers have noted is lower-quality than other laptops. Harker and Avon are newer chassis models than Krypton, but I haven't seen reviews of those yet. |
