Hi Felp471..... Welcome to the forums. Looks like a real nice build to me. The 880m is a stronger card, by about 20-25% over the 870m. I think either will give you what you want, game dependant of course, but the the extra money does give you more longevity.

Agree with bprat22. If you can move to the 880M, do it.
I've compromised in the past, and won't do it again. Get the beefiest system you can afford and think not about what you want now, but what's going to come down the pike. If you can swing an SSD, do so as well. That's the biggest bottleneck for everything else you do on the laptop other than gaming. There's nothing like the sweet, sweet joy of booting to the desktop (in Windows 8.1) in less than 10 seconds. And launching applications in a second or two. |
