Can someone tell me if either the Lance or Triton laptops use Synaptic trackpads? Can they be configured to scroll up and down by swiping the right side of the pad?
Thanks for any input! Edited by Sigwolf - 30 Dec 2014 at 9:45am |

I don't own either, but the Lance uses a Clevo/Sager case like the Krypton, and the Krypton does not use a Synaptics pad. It's a Sentelic pad, but it has horizontal and vertical scrolling that's configurable via the installable app. I would wager the Lance has the same pad.
As for the Triton, it's a different chassis, though it may also be a Clevo/Sager one based on its part number. If you click More Info when looking at the chassis for each laptop in the Configurator, you'll get a lot of details. Both claim to have scrolling functionality on the touchpad. |

Thanks for the info, Roykirk. That's a real shame, and may be a deal-breaker for me. My wife's ASUS notebook has a Sentelic, and it's the worst, unusable trackpad I have ever tried.
Synaptics edge scrolling has always been reliable for me, but the only way to scroll on hers is with a two finger gesture that is finicky as heck. Is your Krypton like that, or can you configure it to scroll with one finger along the edges? |

Unfortunately, I'm not the best person to ask about the quality of laptop touchpads: I loathe them all with a loathing few others can muster. I always mouse. However, the settings do say that it's one-finger scrolling for vertical and horizontal. There appears to be a way to do two-finger scrolling as well. |

The trackpad on the Triton has been the best on all of our models thus far. There are software features on the trackpad that allow you to do finger swipes.
