Hi EF-2000....Welcome to the forums.
For your usage I would start with the Dreadnought level 3 builds. Their X79 mobo is a quad channel ram as opposed to the dual channel ram of the Z77. The i7-3930k chip is also a 6 core chip. You know your needs alot better than I and I don't edit, render, model, etc. but from all I've read and others here I have steered to it, the X79 platform would serve your usage very well and stay on budget. See what you think and good luck. |

I agree with bprat22. If you are looking at rendering and editing, and you have $4000 to spend, you need to go with the x79: huge performance increase.

Real nice build.
If your going with one gtx670 now and in the future with no sli plans , the 750HX power supply is a better bet. The HX series has a 7 year warranty because of its better components. No SSD drive for quicker load times with OS and apps?? I like the Noctua d14 cooler that you picked better than the liquid, but DS likes the 240mm rad better if you overclock, which you didn't pick. Oc'ing does boost processing, but then the liquid might be a must. This liquid cooling is a sealed unit with no maintenance involved like the typical water cooled setups. Looks real nice for your applications. Good Luck and keep us updated. Edited by bprat22 - 26 May 2012 at 12:21pm |
