It's finally here! Lots of pictures, sorry!

The fedex guy had to use a dolly (sp?) to bring it to our door! The box was huge! I knew I couldn't take it home with me that day, but I was just happy knowing that it got here safely. The people at DS did an awesome job of making sure the rig was secured.

Took a little peek and then....drove to work. Waited two days, couldn't take it anymore and finally drove down to my parents place and picked it up at 2am. 2 hours later...here i am. =)

On to the pictures!

The insides:

The huge Noctua cooler

GTX480

PSU : Please don't yell at me DST4ME Wink

RAM tucked away nicely. You can't see it, but the 3rd stick is actually behind the fan. Tight fit so I hope everything will be okay.

SSD

Top Fan

X58

Extra parts: Christ...lol. Time to RTFM's

What do these do btw?!

And the thin L shapped thing? I know the other one is a screwdriver.

Free t-shirt!

Binder

Free game!

Up and running

I love this thing! To everyone at DS thank you so much, this rig is amazing. Lightning quick compared to my old computer. Still learning Win7 so i'll get back with a performance review after I install some programs and games. Btw, what program do I use to check my cpu/gpu/etc temps? And, what things do you guys think I should install. I'm probably going to DL Eset tomorrow, not sure what else.

Well..it's 5am and I need to go to bed. Be you know damned well I won't be able to. So i'm going to tinker around with this thing for a few more hours Ouch. I'll update this when I get a chance. Morning!

Ryan

P.S.    There! now it's your turn DST4ME

I just got my rig a few days ago and took a bunch of pictures just like you. My system looks almost identical but I have a smaller psu and no ssd heh. You know everyone said the blue/red would clash, but I kind of like it from your pics I wasn't sure what to really install either. I did DL Eset and get that up and running. It made me install a ton of windows updates but now I'm good to go. Then I installed WoW lol.   I don't think there are a ton of essentials besides your AV. I just need to get my front fan working and I'll be good to go. Great system!

I'd recommend not putting your system directly on the carpet like that as you can hinder airflow, especially to the power supply.

You should either put it up on a desk (which would also decrease dust intake) or put a board under it (I use an old bookshelf shelf).

Great pictures!

In response to your questions:

1. The plastic tabs you we're saying 'What do these do btw?!' are actually the snap in slot holders for the video cards and such. We remove them and screw the video card down just in case they pop open in shipping.

2. The 'L' is a screw driver and the other item is simply to push reach buttons.

Great system!

Thanks guys.
Alex -  Ahhh, that makes more sense.
SemperFuzz- Yup it's the LE motherboard.
Yup, I like the way the red and blue go together.

I'm extremely happy with the way it turned out. Downloading ESET today when I get home from work.

Installed JustCause2 yesterday, and from it's Benchmark option it looks like i'm getting a constant 60fps. Now I just need to find a program to see how the 480 is running under load.

Btw, the system is extremely quiet compared to my old one. I was expecting it to be way louder considering the amount of fans and hardware going into it. Definitely a plus.

Oh, and for those running windows 7 what gadgets do you use? I currently run CPU usage and Network Meter.

Ugh...off to work again. I'll never get to spend any decent amount of time with this thing lol.
