I just got my new rig!!!! Ok so I have a few questions before I hook it up, the ssd, should I just put my games on that and for other programs like avast, iTunes, Zune put those on the second hard drive? Also the software for my Logitech g510 keyboard n my g600 mouse, should I install those on the secondary as well? Please help!

i beleive in most cases an SSD has faster load times than the harddrive so any of your main apps you want to run for example a game you play all the time you would want to put that on your SSD. i would double check on this though i only read this somewhere on the net.

So i just fired the baby up, and it was LOUD! yes I did remove the inside foam . I tried to move the fan knob to maybe slower my fan speed, but it doesn't seem to change my fan speed and still loud. So i was just wondering is the ODE v2 LVL supposed to be a loud?

The top fan knob makes only a little difference. Is the noise a grinding, or grading noise or louder than you expected swooshing fan noise? If you're comparing it to a much smaller ,older pc with a single small fan in the back then that is the price of a gaming rig. If it's an annoying noise then it might be a fan bearing, etc. Try to see where it's coming from by pulling side cover.

Tough to tell from the video. Great video by the way. Initially it did sound like a fan bearing but after you walked away an then back, it sounded normal. Is it louder at first and then dies down?

That sound appears to just be high RPM fan speeds for cooling. You can lower the fan speeds on the H100 cooling system by pressing the button on the CPU cooler which can let you change from a low, medium, and high fan speed setting. Also, you can contact our support team and we can help you slow the fans down to make the system more quiet.

Sounds like the H100 to me, and I just realized Alex has already addressed this as I am typing, lol.

Yuntanman....welcome and congrats on your new system.
Just an idea for your SSD. You can put your games files on the SSD then have your save games and mods on the HDD data drive. I like the video.

Sorry I haven't responded in a while, been busy with work and playing on my new computer !!!
I turned the corsair down to the first level of cooling which drastically lowered the noise! I will update a new video when I get a chance showing you what all three levels sounds like. When I first boot the cpu it is pretty loud then after it initalizes and loads the desktop it drops. I am really happy with my purchase and when I have some down time I will update with pics and a review!!! Also is there a nice free download to check how hot my computer is running so I can adjust cooling as necessary? Thank you guys for all your help! |
