   So my dedicated sound card just died, and I am now running the audio via the integrated audio on the EVGA X58 SLI MB.

I have a decent set up with 5.1 surround speakers and a decent set of 5.1 surround headphones, which have always sounded great.

My question is will the integrated audio run the 5.1 speakers and headphones in actual surround sound, or do I need another sound card to do that?

If I need a sound card, which I would rather not buy if I don't need to, can anyone point me to a decent card for 100.00 or less? I've been looking at some by ASUS but a lot of reviews complain about driver issues.

Help?
