First off, even with the Titan Z, you'll be putting a lot of stress trying to run 3x 4k monitors. Secondly, the 28" 4k monitor from ASUS is slightly better due to several internal components making it appear as 1 monitor instead of two like the 31".
Nextly, the Titan Z only has one display port, 1 hdmi, and 2x dvi. You can't get anything higher than 30hz on hdmi and lower. It request display port for 60hz refresh rate. So you'd be able to hook up two monitors due to graphics restrictions (unless the 31" has an hdmi input... but you're lacking on your refresh rate... plus I'm not sure if HDMI can do 4k). |

I did forget to say, that a Titan Z is 2x Titan Black GPU's on a single card... but 2x Titan Blacks runs faster and better than a single Titan Z... not to mention it's about $1k cheaper. So if you buy 4x Titan Blacks... you'll save money, it'll be much faster and stronger and it can run 4 monitors via display port.
Get 4x Titan Blacks, instead of 2x Titan Z's. Edited by Meller - 22 Aug 2014 at 3:45am |

Hey Meller,
Thanks for your feedback & advice, it's all greatly appreciated, buddy. Now which 27 inch screen are you talking about, there's no option for a 28 inch in the accessories. prntscr.com/4fagw0 Here's all of the 27 inch options, the main thing I want is be able to have 1 screen just to watch TV series, movies, youtube & so on, then I want 1 screen just for games, & 4K resolution, & be able to use Ultra high settings in games without any problem. And here's the new configuration. ------------------------------------------------------------------- Exterior Finish: Exotic Paint Finish - Custom Color - Digital Storm Metallic Translucent High-Gloss Finish Trim Accents: - Not Available Processor: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 4960X 3.6GHz (Six-Core) (Extreme Performance) Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition X79 (Intel X79 Chipset) System Memory: 64GB DDR3 1866MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum DHX (Extreme-Performance) Power Supply: 2x Dual (1200W Corsair AX1200i (Digitally Controlled Power) Expansion Bay: Dual Solid State Hard Drive Hot Swap Bay Optical Drive: Blu-Ray Player/DVD Writer (Play Blu-Ray and Burn DVDs) (Slim Slot Loading Edition) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (1TB Samsung 840 EVO) Storage Set 2: 2x Storage (6TB Seagate) Storage Set 3: 2x Storage (6TB Seagate) RAID Config: RAID 50: Striping: Performance + Drive Failure Protection (Requires 6 HDDs) RAID Card: LSI MegaRAID Internal 9280-16i4e (Up to 16 Drives) (SATA/SAS) (6Gb/s) (PCI-E 2.0) (512MB Memory) Internet Access: Wireless PCI-E ASUS PCE-N53 (Dual Band Performance) (Supports 802.11n/g/b) Graphics Card(s): 4x SLI Quad (NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Black 6GB (Includes PhysX) Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster ZxR (Ultimate in Audio Playback and Creation) HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: H20: HydroLux Copper: Digital Storm Copper Pipe Custom Cooling System (Video Cards + CPU + Chipset) H20 Tube Color: Signature HyperYellow Edition: Fluid + Clear Tubing + Custom Yellow Accents Chassis Fans: Upgrade All Fans to Corsair Airflow Performance Edition (Up to 6 Fans) Internal Lighting: Digital Storm RGB LED Lighting System (Requires Thermal Management Control Board & Software) Airflow Control: Digital Storm Thermal Management Control Board & Software Chassis Mods: Hailstorm II: Bottom Baseplate Mod (Cleaner Wiring Look & DS Logo Branding) Noise Reduction: Noise Suppression Package Stage 2 (Optimized Airflow & Fan Speeds with Noise Dampening Material) LaserMark: Digital Storm LaserMark Service - Text (Plexiglass Acrylic Window) CPU Boost: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires High-End Motherboard Selection) Graphics Boost: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability Memory Boost: Memory Fan Kit Only (Does not include memory overclocking service) OS Boost: Yes, Disable and tweak all of the non-crucial services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Ultimate (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows CD) Virus Protection: FREE: McAfee AntiVirus Plus (1 Year Service Activation Card) (Not Pre-installed) ($35 Value) Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: APC 1500VA Uninterrupted Power & Surge Conditioner - BR1500G Speakers: Corsair SP2500 High-power 2.1 System (Includes Subwoofer) (CA-SP211NA) Keyboard: Corsair Vengeance K95 (Fully Mechanical Gaming Keyboard) (Black Brushed Aluminum Finish) Mouse: Corsair Vengeance M90 (Laser 5700 dpi) (MMO/RTS Gaming Mouse) (USB Wired) NVIDIA SHIELD: NVIDIA SHIELD (PC Streaming + Android Gaming) Branded Gear: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 15-20 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 6 Year Limited Warranty (6 Year Labor & 4 Year Part Replacement) ------------------------------------------------------------------- Sincerely, Me. I don't know if DS offers it, but it's the ASUS PB287Q. It's a 28" 4k monitor released by ASUS. It's also much cheaper in price, and works much nicer with PC's.
You can probably contact DS to see if they can supply it to you, or you can find it on places like Newegg, but I'd really recommend it over the 31" for several reasons. Only reason to go with the 31" is if you just wanted a larger screen... resolution is the same. PB287Q and 4x Titan Blacks Cheaper overall cost and much better performance. |

Hey Meller,
So if I'd go with the screen you're recommending me ye, could I run 2 or even 3 of them, with no problems at all. And is there anything else you'd change about my configuration to increase performance etc. And the screen you're talking about is able to run in 4k resolution, just to be sure. :) Sincerely, Me. |

Hey Meller,
Yes because when I'm in the option field, it says the Copper one will cool the video cards, CPU & the chipset. While the one you're talking about does the cards & the CPU. Sincerely, Me. |

Yes, the PB287Q is a 28" 4k monitor. It cost I believe in the $699 range, compared to the $2k+ for the 31". ASUS, released the 28" as say a successor to the 31". Better internals to make it run smoother with your GPU's.
http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236399&cm_re=PB287Q-_-24-236-399-_-Product $649.99 from newegg. And yes, it's a native 4k monitor. Now, performance. You must understand, even with Titans, 4k is a very high resolution. And running three of these will definitely put a load on your PC. Especially if you're trying to run them as surround. With 4x Titan Blacks, you can technically run 2 PB287Q's per video card. So in all technicality, you could run 8 of those monitors (each monitor has an HDMI input and Display Port input). Now, if you use HDMI, you can only run 4k resolution @ 30hz... where was Display Port (1.2) can run 4k resolution @ 60hz... assuming refresh rate matters to you at all. Now ideally, you don't want to run 8 4k monitors. 3 will be a heavy load on your computer... 8 will burn will it. But yes, that system is technically the strongest you can get, outside of faster memory but you will have a very hard time getting 64GB to run at a much faster speed than that. I did notice one error. RAID 50 requires a minimum of 6 HDD/SSD's. You have 5. While I have never worked with RAID 50, there is a chance it will require all 6 drives to be identical. Though I could be wrong. But, at the very least, you'll need one more drive. So you can go with say, 2x 1TB Samsung 840 EVO's for your Drive 1 selection. Or you can pick 2x 500GB 840 EVO's if you don't want 2x 1TB drives. I'd say you're pretty set. We've saved you some money, and built you an even more powerful PC. Which is what I'm all about. I believe in overkill. |

I may be wrong here, but You might be able to power that entire system off a single Corsair AX1500i instead of 2xAX1200i.
the 1500i runs off the new draft Titanium efficiency, will save you $$ on election bill, and though we're only talking about maybe a few degree's could help in lower the temp in the case... though that is really not even note worth. |

Hey Meller,
Alright, I'm then going with 2 of these monitors you recommended me, that's alright then ye? And both of the monitors won't always be in 4k res, 1 of them will be, the other one is mainly to watch entertainment, movies, series & youtube. And the other screen that's meant to be 4k, I don't really mind it, I just want to have the option to be able to use 4k res. Sincerely, Me. Edited by KingHeikir - 22 Aug 2014 at 4:57am |

Cool. I hope you enjoy it. 4 titan blacks will eat up that 4k monitor plus a 1440p resolution on the other monitor. If you're not planning on gaming, then you'll do amazing at everything you have it doing.
If you are going to do some gaming, you'll still run some great FPS on the 4k. Enjoy. |

The Tesla cards are for number crunching, not for driving displays. With 4 graphics cards, you will not be able to include the audio card. The Rampage Black has an improved isolated audio section and should be able to hold its own against most cards.
Haswell-E/X99 is rumored be launched on the 29th, this is the next generation of the Intel Extreme platform. Rumor now has it that the Nvidia GTX 880 and 870 are going to launched soonish (caveat they were said to be announced last Sunday, so this all needs to be taken with a grain of salt). Source for the X99: http://thepcenthusiast.com/intel-haswell-e-release-date-revealed/ Edit: The caveat should be that there will always be a bigger and better product "just around the corner". So, if you need the system do it now. But, it is reasonable to expect that both Intel and Nvidia are eager to get these products deep into the distribution channel before people start shopping for Christmas. Oh, forgot, RAID50 requires at least 6 drives. 3 for each of the RAID5 arrays that makeup the RAID0 array. Anyway the RAID controller doesn't support RAID 50, just 0/1/5/10.
I just noticed Windows 7, I would switch to Windows 8.1; 8.1 will support newer versions of DirectX, which isn't true of Windows 7. Edited by danjw1 - 22 Aug 2014 at 1:28pm |

I expect they will carry it, but I don't work for DS so I can't speak to future product announcements from them. It replaces the Ivy Bridge-E/X79 platform that your current build includes. It will have more PCIe 3.0 lanes (40), more SATA 6Gbps ports (10), more USB 3.0. It will also have an updated socket 2011-3. The desktop processors will have 6-8 cores at 3.3 or 3.5GHz for the two 6 core parts or 3GHz for the 8 core part.
Honestly, for an Home Theater PC (HTPC)/Gaming system, I think you are overbuilding. Most games will run better on a Haswell Devil's Canyon then on the Ivy Bridge-E/Haswell-E. Most games, at least currently can't take advantage of more than 4 cores. The i7-4790K runs at 4GHz. If you really feel you need the 4x Titans, then the Maximus VI Extreme can run that and the i7-4790K. |

Hey,
So this is the configuration that I'm going with I think, is there anything that doesn't add up with the config, do I have enough power to run all of this. I'm going with this monitor, 3 of them. The 1st one for entertainment, youtube, movies, & episodes, which will be in 1080P all the time. The 2nd is for gaming in 4k res for certain games not always, otherwise just 1080P & the 3rd is applications like, Teamspeak 3, Skype, Mumble & so on, which will be in 1080P. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236399&cm_re=PB287Q-_-24-236-399-_-Product Which one to pick, what are the benefits & the negatives, between them. The hardline one doesn't do Chipset, just the CPU & the Cards, but the other 2 do CPU, Cards & chipset both. So I need some assistance. http://prntscr.com/4fyd44 ------------------------------------------------------------------- Exterior Finish: Onyx Black Matte Finish with Red Stand Trim Accents: - Not Available Processor: Intel Core i7 Extreme Edition 4960X 3.6GHz (Six-Core) (Extreme Performance) Motherboard: ASUS Rampage IV Black Edition X79 (Intel X79 Chipset) System Memory: 64GB DDR3 1866MHz Corsair Dominator Platinum DHX (Extreme-Performance) Power Supply: 1500W Corsair AX1500i (Digitally Controlled Power) Expansion Bay: Dual Solid State Hard Drive Hot Swap Bay Optical Drive: Blu-Ray Player/DVD Writer (Play Blu-Ray and Burn DVDs) (Slim Slot Loading Edition) Storage Set 1: 1x SSD (1TB Samsung 840 EVO) Storage Set 2: 2x Storage (6TB Seagate) Storage Set 3: 2x Storage (6TB Seagate) RAID Config: RAID 10: Performance + Drive Failure Protection (Recommended) (Requires 4 HDDs) RAID Card: - No Thanks Internet Access: Wireless PCI-E ASUS PCE-N53 (Dual Band Performance) (Supports 802.11n/g/b) Graphics Card(s): 4x SLI Quad (NVIDIA GeForce GTX TITAN Black 6GB (Includes PhysX) Sound Card: Creative Sound Blaster ZxR (Ultimate in Audio Playback and Creation) HPC Processor: - No Thanks Extreme Cooling: H20: HydroLux Copper: Digital Storm Copper Pipe Custom Cooling System (Video Cards + CPU + Chipset) H20 Tube Color: Signature HyperYellow Edition: Fluid + Clear Tubing + Custom Yellow Accents Chassis Fans: Upgrade All Fans to Corsair Airflow Performance Edition (Up to 6 Fans) Internal Lighting: Digital Storm RGB LED Lighting System (Requires Thermal Management Control Board & Software) Airflow Control: Digital Storm Thermal Management Control Board & Software Chassis Mods: Fan Blow-Holes: VREG/CPU & Graphics Card Area: Laser Cut and Mount a Side Window 140mm Fans Noise Reduction: Noise Suppression Package Stage 2 (Optimized Airflow & Fan Speeds with Noise Dampening Material) LaserMark: - No Thanks CPU Boost: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires High-End Motherboard Selection) Graphics Boost: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability Memory Boost: Memory Fan Kit Only (Does not include memory overclocking service) OS Boost: Yes, Disable and tweak all of the non-crucial services on the operating system Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 8.1 Professional (64-Bit Edition) Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows CD) Virus Protection: FREE: McAfee AntiVirus Plus (1 Year Service Activation Card) (Not Pre-installed) ($35 Value) Office: - No Thanks Game: - No Thanks Display: - No Thanks Surge Shield: - No Thanks Speakers: - No Thanks Keyboard: - No Thanks Mouse: - No Thanks NVIDIA SHIELD: - No Thanks Branded Gear: - No Thanks Priority Build: - No Thanks, Ship Within 15-20 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed Warranty: Life-time Expert Care with 6 Year Limited Warranty (6 Year Labor & 4 Year Part Replacement) ------------------------------------------------------------------- Sincerely, Me. |

Hi KingHeikir....A couple of things.. With 4x video cards, all your Pcie slots are filled or covered over by the video cards' double wide size. No room for the WiFi card or the sound card. Plus, the Rampage 4 mobo has WiFi built in, so the added card isn't needed.
Drop the memory fan kit. Not sure there's room for it and its more for show than performance. Drop the Chassis Mod fan blow holes. Not needed and I don't think DS would do it with the Aventum. As far as the water cooling, the chipsets really don't need cooling so the choice is more aesthetics. Either work great and cool the same. It's a personal choice for sure. Dynamite setup. Hope this helps and good luck. Edited by bprat22 - 24 Aug 2014 at 7:08am |

The 4 graphics cards will either be in or block all the PCIe slots. There will be no space for the sound card or the WiFi card.
The WiFi can be easily added with a USB device. The audio on the Rampage Black offers a 120dB signal to noise and -107 dB THD+N. A very solid audio solution, if that isn't good enough for you, you will need to go to a USB audio device. I would also suggest RAID5 over RAID10. It gives you 1 drive as redundancy and 3 for data. It is very unlikely that two drives will go bad at the same time. Even with RAID10, two drives could lose all the data, though they would have to be on the same stripe. |

Hey everyone,
So this is the new configuration, is everything alright, does everything add up, I can't really tell myself, is the power supply enough, I removed 2 drives, so there's space, should I add something if you look at the old config. That build looks good to me. The 1500watt psu should do it. A 1300 watt is recommended for quad sli Titan Black, but DS will load test it with your overclocking, etc and let you know.
The great thing about DS is that they will test and evaluate the rig and get back to you with any discrepancies. No worries there. Epic rig. Good luck and keep in touch. |

Hey everyone,
Which monitor is better, this monitor is in a Icelandic computer shop, Asus 27 Asus PG278Q TN LED 1ms 2560x1440 60/120/144hz - & this one. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16824236399&cm_re=PB287Q-_-24-236-399-_-Product I can't link the other one because all of the description is in Icelandic & so on. So if you know the difference between them please do tell, which one is better, don't mind buying the other one from the foreign site. Sincerely, Me. |

Two completely different monitors.
As I pointed out earlier when I recommended both. The PG278Q is a 1440p monitor, not a 4k monitor. But the PG278Q offers up to 144hz refresh rate + gsync. I'm planning on buying one myself. The PB287Q is a 4k 60hz monitor. It's an amazing monitor because of it's massive resolution, the TN panel performs amazingly, and you don't have the dual display issue the 31" 4k monitor has from ASUS. With 4 Titans, you could easily run both of those. |

It's hands down the very best 1440p monitor on the market.

Also to note, it's also one of the most, if not the most expensive 27" 1440p monitor on the market too... but that is mainly because it's support for g-sync.
