Dual 780s are still plenty of power for 1080p and 1440p gaming. Even light 4K gaming should be fine.

A lot of this depends on your gaming style. What resolution do you usually play at? Are you a max settings person? Must be above 60 FPS at all times? Or something less. The SLI 580s I got 4.5 years ago still game fine at 1920x1200, for instance. Based on the performance of my single 780 Ti, my guess is that you'll be good for 3 years. 1920/1080 - Normal settings for the most part. Even at Ultra settings, I get 91fps (max for COD games) I play COD: Ghost / AW mainly

My dual 780s play all my games smoothly on highest settings at 1080. I can't comment on their 4k abilities other than to note even dual 980s can't keep above 60fps for all games in 4k. So it's somewhat of a question of whether you are willing to perhaps reduce settings, resolution or live with perhaps some lack of smoothness.
Check out these numbers though- http://www.tweaktown.com/tweakipedia/38/nvidia-geforce-gtx-780-sli-benchmarked-at-4k/index.html Note how bad Metro Last Light would be on 4k with dual 780s. That game is rough on video cards and demonstrates that high end gaming systems have a purpose in life. Edited by michaeljhuman - 16 Jan 2015 at 7:54am |

Thanks Mike! Ive seen those benchmarks. I play COD: AW and Ghost on highest settings. I probably wont upgrade until 2017 or so.
