I'm running Win 7 Pro on a 64 bit OS, Intel Core I7 CPU 930@ 2.80 GHz 3.81GH (Quad Core) motherboard is EVGA X58 LE SLI (Intel x58 chipset). I've only got 6GB of Ram. How can I add more? Is there a specific vendor or make I should use and would I need to take it to a shop to install or can I do it myself? I'm more of a software person than hardware so I'm not the best at working inside of a computer.

Thanks,

Your motherboard has 6x ram/memory slots with a max capacity of 24GB.

You can find plenty of DDR3 1600mhz memory kits on Newegg for example. Might have a hard time finding a 24GB kit that's good... but you can easily buy a 16GB (4x4gb sticks) 1600mhz kit and a 8GB (2x4GB sticks) kit... for a total of 24gb.

You can purchase it in Amazon to make some upgrade to your memory. If you can't find 24 GB, just like what Meller said you can have 16 GB.
I have the best gaming laptop for under $1500.
