My Vanquish L4 just got here, and I was about to plug in my displayport into the video card but it doesnt fit. There are DP options, but they are much smaller. What do wiring do I need to set up my dual screens?

You can get adapters for displayport to HDMI or DVI. The cards typically have 1 displayport, 1 HDMI, 1 DVI-D, and 1 DVI-I.

Different model gtx 970s have different video port config. You could have mini displayport. Check the accessory box that came with your rig for DP to mini DP adapter. You might have to get mini to full size adapters to run both monitors. Or hdmi to DP , etc like was said.

Whenever I try plugging my monitor in it says "DVI NO SIGNAL" I've tried both monitors with different plug in wires, same thing. What do I do??

Your card may have a plug in the display port. check closely and just pull it to remove. Asus plugs theirs, not sure about others.

Make sure you are plugging in to the video card and not the built in graphics on the motherboard.

Hi Nayots,

Your 970 GPU should have three DP 1.2 connections. As stated they may be mini-DP. I suggest you call DS and a technician will help you get setup correctly for two monitors.

Did you try any of the suggestions on your other post?

Go to control panel - devices and printers and see if the monitors are listed there. If not, at the top click 'add a device' and follow the leads to 'find devices'.

Then go to device manager - display adapters, and look for the Nvidia GTX970. Disable any others.

Go to 'monitors' and make sure yours are listed. If it says "generic pnp monitor" - turn off computer and monitors, unplug all from the wall and unplug monitor cable from the monitor for 2 minutes, then plug in the monitor cable first, and plug in the power cords and boot up as normal. Then recheck the above.

check device manager for any colored ! or ? marks which means something is wrong.

Post back the results of what you did and what you found.

Please try what we suggest and let us know what results you got. We are working blind as we must go just on what you tell us.

The call to DS may be the best solution as they can log on to your computer with logmein and get to see what we can't.

Try this also.

hit (windows key) + P. You should get a menu on the right to select PC screen only (screen1), duplicate, extend, and second screen only.

What do you get? Can you select second screen only and get anything on that screen?
