Hi Everyone,
I'm really new to the forums (just opened an account) And wasn't sure how the format worked out here, so I went with what the text box gave me :) . Budget: $1500 Expectations: I'd like to be able to run multiple software such as Photoshop, Premiere Pro, Maya, Illuststudio, Flash, etc. at the same time without lag. And to be able to render in high definition. Usage: I will be using this computer to do illustrations with Photoshop, to 2-d animation and 3-d animations. I do plan on having 2-4 monitors to work with. Special Needs: I work in an area with no air conditioning, and heat does tend to build up a lot (even with the window open). I do work with clay so dust may be a problem. All I really want is a good computer that can maintain top performance under pressure at all times. Saved Ticket #: [N/A] Specifications: [N/A] Thanks for any posts ahead of time :) |

Hi staple999.. Welcome to the DS forums.
For your budget the best option is the Vanquish level 4. It's gtx 770 can display on 2-4 monitors as you mentioned. Not sure you'll get top performance across mufti monitors but you can get the work done . A custom build with a stronger graphics card and an overclocked cpu would cost several hundred dollars more, so stick with the Vanquish 4 for best bang for your buck. Hope this helps and good luck. |

As bprat says, at your budget your options are limited to the Vanquish II line. The gtx770 card in the Ultimate will run mulitple monitors but there might be a slight perfomance decrease... and yes it's a great card otherwise. I am sincerely impressed with mine.
If you can find a way to increase your budget by about half, you can get into the customizable machines to do everything you want.
As far as the heat/dust issues, the Vanquish II ultimate does stay fairly cool with regular maintenance, providing you pull the front cover off to get to the intake filters, and clean the PSU filter on the bottom. Check other threads in this forum for examples. I have mine in a fairly closed environment and have seen temps no higher than 65°c, but it's cleaned once a week.
Hope this helps from a Vanquish owner's perspective.
