So I'm in the works for getting a build up and running and I have a question regarding HDD.  I've read here and had recommendations to go with a solid-state hard-drive for faster performance and use a second standard HDD for music, video, photo, back-up, etc.  I assume that if I already have a 1TB external HDD that I could forego the internal multimedia HDD.  This is probably a simple question for most all of you but I'm rather a noob with computers.

An external HDD will work just fine.

Thanks!  Thoughts on the Corsair v. Intel model 520 v. Intel model 510?

Hi blankcc,

Intel did not do a good job with the 510 and you should not consider it. The 520 is a much better choice.

The 520 is amazing. From pressing the on button to fully booted, it takes about 16 or 17 seconds. The official boot time is probably about 7 or 8 seconds. Also, the Corsair has a 3 year warranty, while the 520 has a 5 year warranty.
