Special Needs:

Saved Ticket #: 1163330

Hi Y'all
I work as a Flatbed OTR truck driver with TMC and when ever I get the chance I hop on my laptop that I have now to pla some World of Warcraft for some questing and raiding. With the laptop that I have now my FPS with just questing is around 50 to 60 and raiding is down to 30 FPS or below. WoW is the game I play the most out of all games. I play over wifi from truckstops or Hotspots most of the time. I want to make sure that the Configuration that I saved #1163330 is worth the amount to replace the old computer that I have and here is the build of my laptop that I have now.

I just want to make sure that the configuration 1163330 will be able to give me a lot more then what I got now. I do know that it is nowhere near what a desktop can do but with being on the road all the time, laptops is all I can do. would you all know what kind of FPS I would get with the new configuration

You are getting a solid build and I would reasonably expect nearly double the performance you are getting now. Some public 'hotspots' use throttled performance so on the road you may see variances but as far as machine performance, you are gonna go "WOW"!

With this set-up WoW will probably auto=set to high/ultra. For me I just set ground clutter to low because it the grass is higher than my gnomes and goblins and it's easier to find stuff on the ground.

I'd expect you to see FPS increase of 30-50 in the world and 20-30 in raid environments.

On wireless you might need to tone down particle density in raids as it can get pretty wild at times.

As others have said, you should definitely get plenty of FPS in WoW on High/Ultra with that build.  Keep in mind that on battery the GPU and CPU will throttle down, so FPS will go much lower.  While on battery you'll need to crank down the settings to Medium most likely to maintain good FPS.  If you're able to keep it on AC power while on the road, you definitely want to do that.

EDIT: I'd recommend you not post serial numbers from your current system.  Just a good habit.

This is true. I assumed he had a 110V outlet or at least a 12V - 110V adapter in the truck but should have made the distinction.

Thanks for keeping me honest. : )

Well, that is going to make it hard to purchase the laptop, crying shame too. AmEx is all I have so looks like I might have to go somewhere else for a laptop which really sucks
