After a long bit of waiting, the titans beefier cousin has arrived! Anybody going to be getting one of these absolute beasts?

Makes me wonder how much they will discount the original Titans, since the Blacks are a direct replacement. Probably not as much as they should.

I am still happy with my EVGA GTX Titan I got in June of last year. Sort of surprised by the 780ti and Titan Black coming out so quick. But it seems that video card specs are changing faster than they used to.
So much now is just bragging rights unless you really need a super card. I am still single monitor at 1920 so I would have been fine with a less powerful card even last year. Makes you wonder what the value of the last generation Titan will be shortly. Sort of like driving a new car of the lot. |

It has been a crazy ride with so many launches. I do hear that it's not going to be so fast paced anymore soon.

Honestly I think slowing things down a bit could help profit margins, I can't imagine the R&D budget that this pace must entail. I've said it many times before, we churn out new GPUs and CPUs far, far faster than 99% of end-user software requires them. Edited by Tidgxor - 18 Feb 2014 at 7:35pm |

Sometimes the issue is trying to outdo the other company. nVidia may not of wanted to release new updates so quickly after just releasing the original Titan & 780 cards but they wanted to be assured they would have something better than AMD just to say ours is faster than yours...

I have 3x GTX 780ti Classifieds. The only difference here is the memory on the titan black vs the 780ti's. Seeing as I can run 4k resolution now and still not use up all my memory, I'd have no performance gain at all.
Plus, seeing as you won't see any Titan Black Classifieds or anything, my 780ti's will still offer better OC's as they are the best of the best chip's. So I guess, "technically" the 780ti's will give you better fps. |

Nice, looks like it fell pretty much where I thought it would performance wise.
