IVe got a behemoth laptop
Gtx 980m SLI
intel 4810mq
16 GB DDR3 1600MHz
1TB 850pro
1TB HGST 7400RPM
256GB 840 evo (boot and programs)

Im interested in overclocking my GPU's but im very new to this process.
Im wondering if its safe for my laptop (i do use an extra cooling pad with a fan in it in conjunction to the laptops internal cooling).

I also wondering what gpu and memory clock offsets i should use for my cards. I downloaded EVGA precision 16 already but i can get MSI after burner if needed.

Hi fghy60.... Unless you really know what your doing, I wouldn't mess with it.   Laptops are a different animal than desktops. It is done by some, but the gpu and cpu chips in a lot of cases are already pushed, the heat sinks for cooling are small and designed for factory settings and the power supply is also more limited than a desktop.   Laptops have a tough time with heat and overclocking adds to it.

Not saying you can't but just beware of the risks.

I'm so conflicted here. My overclocking side wants to just give you great starting points for the mobile GTX 980, then the other side wants me to just dive into the pro's and con's of overclocking on your particular set up.

Damn you angel and devil on my shoulders.

I'm not looking for much, nothing like the fabeled 1.5GHz mark that the desktop mobiles can get. I just want to add like 100-150 MHz to my baseclock on each card so that I can max ACunity with at least 40-50fps instead of 30.

well 100-150mhz won't give you a 10-20fps increase. Sorry to burst your bubble there.
