I have a Corsair 750CX Watt power supply, with my current build my OC GTX SLI 770's is still better than a single 980 but do you think I have enough power for a SLI config with the GTX 980s? I noticed they draw a surprisingly little power for their high bandwidth.

So in short do I have enough power for a 980 SLI if not how about a 970?

The gtx 980 has less power draw than the 770, so you should be good to go.  The 750watt psu is the recommended for a sli, gtx 980 setup, assuming no crazy high end overclocking, etc. Big%20Smile

Will do, My OC GTX 770's are more than enough for anything out now and probably in the future. It won't be until around Christmas I start really looking into it.

I have a pair of 770's 2GB and plan on getting a pair of 980's in SLI. ETA around xmas to early next year. Plan to purchase a 4k gsync monitor and join the 4k bandwagon.

Are you stalking me?

I hear 770's already work great with 4k Monitors.

No I wasn't. Reason I'm upgrading is because my current cards are 2gB of vram. Considering the 980 comes with 4gb and is cheaper I plan to get a couple

Although SLI GTX 770 will work at 4K fairly well, newer games are using more and more VRAM so you'll definitely want 4GB plus at that range.

EDIT: There is a 4GB GTX 770, however, you need to make sure both of your cards are of the 4GB variant.

Exactly Nav. Big%20Smile I prefer to use more then just medium or lower game settings when in 4k plus allow some future proofing by getting duel 980 in SLI. I was considering the 780ti but since the 900 series release it has more VRAM and the card is cheaper. Since the SLI benchmarks I've read are not too different it seems logical just to get a pair of 980GTX.

While my primary display will be 4k I'm used to duel displays. I plan on keeping my 2nd display I use for movies and web at 1080 for now. Primary display of 4k will be used for gaming.

Well it was the OC versions of the GTX 770 option I picked when I customized my computer I am pretty sure they are just 2GB each, I could be wrong though. I am no rush to upgrade, I just saw that power consumption on the 980's and they seem amazingly less power hungry than my GTX 770's. That right there was a huge appeal to me considering my 750 Watt PSU, not to mention huge graphics upgrade to come with it. Probably around Christmas or a month or two after I will be really considering upgrading.
