Topic: good rts games Posted: 19 Nov 2007 at 6:29pm |
I played Starcraft religiously for a few years, moved to brood war, then moved to warcraft III and the frozen throne.
I play dawn of war dark crusade online... but its not really balanced whatsoever.
I am looking for a RTS game that is very balanced and online replayability. Anyone have any suggestions?

World in Conflict: really more of a tactical game. There's no base building just order your units and go. The game also have a map editor, a movie maker, and a mod kit coming out.
Command and Conquer 3: Really good RTS game.

I still hold Loyal to Command & Conquer Generals: Zero Hour.
That is what we play competitively out here.

I am going to suggest any Command and Conquer game, they are all really well done and all have balanced factions. I would also recommend rise of nations, supreme commander, or company of heroes or faces of war (similar to company of heroes). They're all fantastic rts's, I know 'cause I religiously play rts's myself.

supreme commander, future starcraft 2. This is not consider as astrategy game but if you want to try it. If you have heard of DoTa then you should definitely try out HoN Heroes of Newerth and see if you like it. Mainly its graphics have been drastically improved and the gameplay is very close to death and upbeat.

Supreme commander and starcraft 2 are strategy games. Maybe, not by what you consider strategy, but they're called real-time strategies. Anyways, I forgot to mention world in conflict is also really good, if you like modern warfare. For a global scale strategy, Supreme Ruler 2010 or 2020 combine real-time and turn-based combat elements.

I would also cast my vote with Command & Conquer 3 Tiberium Wars or Kane's Wrath are both good. Gotta love it when you are on a custom map and you see someone coming at you with 3 races and a mothership behind...

I understand that. My sentence may have confused you. I was explaining that DoTa and HoN may or may not be considered as a strategy game. ^^
