Me... Germany... 1990... 8 weeks of nothing do to just after the reunification but drink "bier" and party with the locals.

Favorite topic at the time:  "With all the East Germans going west, and all the West Germans going east, Germany finally found a way to invade itself!"
 
Beautiful country, beautiful people and highly recommended as a travel destination.  Not just in "Oktober"... but year round.

Did I hear this right. September 2015, we're kidnapping Alex and Nav and taking a trip to Germany for Oktoberfest?!

I knew my four years in high school and two in college of German would pay off. Plus I have housing covered over there.

I was born and spent 14 wonderful years growing up in Heidelberg Germany as an Army brat. I would second the recommendation of a visit to Germany if you haven't been (or even if you have!) Prost!
