Yeah the custom build does have better parts.  I mentioned the ODE 4 just in case you wanted to tri-sli or 7970 cf  with X79 and could save some  $$$$  The ODE builds are good bang for the buck.

If you have no intention of going beyond sli then no need for X79 platform..

Stick with what you have, IMHO .Big%20Smile

Would there be any reason to upgrade to the X79 platform other than Dual-SLI?

I know it has 6-cores but gaming doesn't utilize that many cores.

X79 is primarily suggested for 6-core, which gaming can't utilize, and tri-sli gpu( 3 graphic cards ) as far as I know.
Others might have more insight but I think that covers it.  Big%20Smile

I built the same computer with the X79 and below is the price comparison:

X79
Ticket Number: 651458
Total Price with Instant Savings: $3,983.00

P67
Ticket Number: 651272
Total Price with Instant Savings: $3,579.00

The only difference is the processor.

Actually not to get picky LOL but the p67 build is even $76 cheaper. Memory not the same.Oops

Yep, the X79 seems to be $ 300-400 more than p67 config.  Put that towards your next 580 or up the warranty to 5year labor/ 3 year parts.  The 3 year default is 1 year parts.

Didn't realize the memory was different.

I think I will put the extra money toward the next 580!

Thanks for everyone's help!
I will be purchasing it on Monday!!!!

This should be my last question.

When I purchase it do I get the free copy of Batman: Arkham City code or do I need to do something else for it (like mention it in the order)?

Deal Link: http://www.geforce.com/landingpage/download-batman

With any other promotions like that will I need to find them or does Digital Storm have that built into the process?

BTW - I have been reading up on the Customer Reviews page and can't wait to put my system up on there!

good question..  If DS doesn't specifically mention it as incentive to buy on their site, I would think it's all on you.

Not really sure.  Sending them an email would be the best bet.

I lied I have one more question.

I want to make sure that on my monitor (1900x1200) I can play BF3 on fully maxed out settings.

Will the single NVIDIA GeForce GTX 580 3GB Classified Ultra or should I spend $261 more and get the 2x SLI Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 2.5GB (and possibly be covered for longer)?
"Covered for longer" meaning not have to buy another 580 and being able to wait a couple years before I need to get new graphics cards to max out new games.

Thanks again for all the help everyone!

I asked another forum member that exact question.  Go halfway down of http://www.digitalstormonline.com/forums/forum_posts.asp?TID=16825

His answer was yes, silky smooth.  Big%20Smile

I still think sli 570 2.5GB now saves in the long run but you might not need unless updating monitor.

I just read that post a couple minutes ago and was like "should have read that before my post."

Along the lines of future games (with even better graphics) would it be better to go with the 2x SLI Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 2.5GB?
Then the money will be spent and I won't have to worry about an upgrade as soon in the future.

Sorry if it seems like I'm being difficult, I just get really caught up in big purchases.

Not  a problem. Not difficult at all.  Big%20Smile

My original config for you had sli gtx570 1.2GB gpu's to max out games right out of the box and hopefully a few years.  Of course we don't know what games, etc are in the pipeline, but sli does rock.

The 2.5GB version does give you more room.   Plus $261 now will save how much later with another 580 3GB card.  I'm guessing  $300 on top of that.

Thanks everyone!
Below is the system I ended up buying.
I think/hope I got everything covered that I needed to.

Ticket Number: 651555

Specifications:
Chassis Model: Special Deal Hot Seller - Cooler Master 942 HAF X
Processor: Intel Core i7 2600K 3.40GHz (Unlocked CPU for Extreme Overclocking) (Quad Core)
Motherboard: ASUS P8P67 Deluxe (Intel P67 Chipset) (New & Improved B3 Revision Without SATA 3G Issue)
System Memory: 16GB DDR3 2133MHz Corsair Vengeance (High-Performance)
Power Supply: 1050W Corsair Pro Silver 1050HX (Dual/Triple/Quad SLI Compatible)
Hard Drive Set 1: Operating System: 1x (300GB Solid State (By: Intel) (Model: 320 Series)
Hard Drive Set 2: Multimedia\Data: 1x (1TB Western Digital Caviar (7200 RPM) (Model: Black Edition)
Optical Drive 1: Blu-Ray Player/DVD Writer (Play Blu-Ray and Burn DVDs)
Video Card: 2x SLI Dual (NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 2.5GB (PhysX) (EVGA 025-P3-1579-BR)
Extreme Cooling: AIR: Stage 2: Noctua NH-D14 SE2011 Extreme Performance
Chassis Airflow: Standard Factory Chassis Fans
Internal Lighting: Internal Chassis Lighting System (Red)
Boost Processor: Stage 2: Overclock CPU 4.5GHz to 4.8GHz (Requires Pro or Deluxe Series Motherboard)
Boost Video Card: FREE: Yes, Overclock the video card(s) as much as possible with complete stability
Windows OS: Microsoft Windows 7 Professional (64-Bit Edition)
Recovery Tools: Windows Recovery Toolkit (Bundled with Windows 7 CD)
Exclusive T-Shirt: FREE: Digital Storm T-Shirt - Black (Extra Large)
Warranty: Life-time Expert Customer Care with 3 Year Limited Warranty

Frank - I went with the SLI Dual NVIDIA GeForce GTX 570 2.5GB based on the recommendation and it will probably last me longer (and be cheaper) than the GTX 580 into GTX 580 SLI Dual.

I did go with the 2133MHz memory for a mix of aesthetic and then I have no need to overclock it.

I also made sure to let them know to add a second 200mm OEM fan to the top of the case. Also do not to exceed a VCORE voltage of 1.4 with the overclock.

Also, they had this going on:
PROMOTIONAL LIMITED TIME 1 YEAR WARRANTY UPGRADE Quantity: 1 $0.00
So I got a free upgrade to the 4 Year Warranty Plan!

Hi Tim,

OK, great system. The added year is a real benefit. You can't beat that upgrade even if you had to pay for it. I am surprised by the memory freq. I didn't expect that.

We don't normally recommend the GPUs to be OC. They already are operating at a high level and the OC just generates more heat. You will not notice any increase in performance.

If it starts to run too hot I can get rid of the OC, so for free I figured why not.

One thing I wanted to mention is that I believe with the large heat sinks that come with the regular style Corsair Vengeance ram, the Noctua D14 is unable to fit properly... perhaps DS will use the low profile version of the ram or maybe I am mistaken about this... but I have heard of this problem before, although I am sure its nothing to worry about because DS will figure out a way to make it work just fine.

I contacted Digital Storm this morning and changed up some stuff.

Stuff being the memory back to 1600MHz (since I asked about the memory fitting and they said it won't fit) and removed the graphics card overclock.

How long does Stage 2: Inventory Assignment normally take?
Yes, I know it has only been three days.

I'm just wondering so I can get a feel of how long it takes to get the system from Digital Storm.
"Ship Within 5-15 Business Days After Order Is Successfully Processed" - Do you think my system will be a ship at 15 days?

This is the hardest part every time I buy something.

Hi Tim, well it will take more than three days.

It all depends on when your order and what is going on with DS. The beginning of the week is a good start. Once they start on the build it will go quickly unless they run into a problem. I am pretty sure it will ship quicker than 15 days. That is probably work days.
