Hi People :) Looking for a new computer that will last me say 5 years  Sort of confused if I should pick a Slade or Velox with almost identical config, since Velox is on pre-order but I don't really require it to be quiet as with Slades. Need something soon preferably. Please advise, thanks!

Budget: $3500

Expectations: Fast and Low maintenance

Usage: General computing and gaming, mostly WoW but would like a strong system if I choose otherwise.

Special Needs: None really. Don't need most fancy items, just good cooling maybe and don't plan to overclock unless people suggest I should? Might add SLI in future.

That's all the storage you're getting? At that price point, you should probably line up a few TBs of storage.

But then again, I'm not the one to ask about configurations.  Scared

Whether you go with the Slade, Corsair 550D, or the Velox can be more a personal  choice.  Your build will work just fine in either.

The Slade's main draw is its clean looks and being very quiet, a closed case with acoustic panels on the side and top.  The 240mm rad would mount under the top and require the top panel to stay off, but still pretty quiet.  Being a closed case, the airflow isn't one of the best but works for the right system.

The Velox is  super on airflow.   Fans and vents all around to get max air flow.  It is also a better case to house a water cooled setup.

I would go for the stage 1 overclock.  You have the cpu and 240mm rad to handle it.  The faster clock does help.

Either work in your case. Big%20Smile

Thanks for the reply guys.

I barely use storage as I've seen in the past so I'm gonna save there and stick to the 256 GB but I will do the overclock. I think I'll go with the Velox then, looks like a better choice except it's on pre-order. Wish I could get it sooner.
Does anyone know if DS has additional promo's on black friday so I wait to place an order or I can do it now. :)

Any advice would be appreciated if the below looks good or If someone can suggest any last minute changes that would help? I wanted SLI 980 but might save up and do it later since that'll add a lot.

I agree he does need more storage space but assuming he can added that himself at a later date.

I also noted he did not select an optical Drive.. Maybe he is going to put his own in..

Small things I will be ordering my build soon and will be using a similar build, Only I will be going with SLI 980s.. My decision is whether or not to go full watercooling or let it be fully air cooled.

Good luck with your build...

lol, I actually could get by with 128GB of storage, never used much of it in the past. Same with optical drive. Glad y'all think it's a decent build. I will add SLI in 2015 unless I find a bag of cash. :P Thanks.

Hi anragz,

Nice build. I think the 256 Pro SSD is a good choice. I would want a HDD for backup and storage but you can add that.

How are the fans going to be set up? Are the Rad fans going to blow in or out? If they blow in you might want one, or maybe both, side fans blowing out. If the Rad fans blow out, then I would want both side fans to blow in. This is a new case so not up on how they are going to do it. It all has to do with getting the coolest air possible blowing through the rad.

If you talk to DS about the fans I would like to hear what they had to say.
