After reading several reviews and comparing other companies I have decided to give Digital Storm a try.

My budget is ~3k dollars.

I will be using this PC for heavy gaming, audio engineering and video producing (Basically most Adobe products.) and expect to use this system a LOT.

I'm looking for something that will last me 5+ years.

I do have two cats and so dust and hair are an issue... Also I do not want heat to even BE a factor.  I have had overheating issues in the past before and I want to eliminate them entirely.

My build is below, came under 3k - my question is does it look all right?  Any red flags?  Will this system last? Thank you for your support!

Hi MannyBerry.    That is an excellent build and not much to say.   Quality, strong performing parts.   I would however suggest the stage 1 overclock.  Your 'K' cpu is made for it and the H100i will handle it with ease.     The 4790K Haswell with improved TIM, thermal interface,  does Turbo to 4.4 but DS testing has shown a 8% or so better score with overclock to 4.4 as opposed to Turbo 4.4.   I believe your apps will make use of the faster cpu clock.

Either way, it looks nice and good luck. Big%20Smile

Thank you so much for the reply!

The only thing that has me uneasy about overclocking is longevity.  I'm trying to make this beast last a good long time and I don't want to push my luck.

That said, this is also my first adventure into watercooling and I don't really know what it can/can't do.

My biggest fear is the pump failing and suddenly I have a fried, expensive CPU which may also damage the motherboard.

Just a tip, remove the names of the other companies and just say companies because the names will be removed by Alex because they are competitors.

As far as the overclock and longevity and water cooling.....  The moderate stage 1 overclock will be safe and not effect the longevity.  DS does it stable and the right after market cooler will keep it at safe temps.

The h100i isn't really what we call water cooling, that's the much more expensive Hydrolux with separate reservoir, pump, etc.   Its all in the wording Hahaha but the sealed units like the h100i are liquid cooling.

The sealed units like H100i have come a long way and have a 5 year warranty last I looked.  They are pretty dependable and if they do fail, the cpu will shut down before it overheats to the point of damage in most cases.    The liquid inside is non-conductive.

I used to always recommend the air coolers over liquid but kinda gave up because of the sealed units popularity, small size, etc.   But if you want a cooler that cools just as good, is super dependable with no pump, tubing, etc to go wrong and quiet, go with the Noctua D14.  It is huge but gets the job done and just works for years with no concerns.   It does restrict the ram height with tall heat spreaders, but those are more for looks anyways for most.  The standard DS low profile ram will work great.

I'm very thankful for the response!

I love the fact that DS lets me write comments about my order to ensure it's built the way I need it to.  I think I'm in for a good time, here.

Thanks again! (More replies about the build always welcome!)

Somewhere in the forums (or on a DS review site) is a story about a buyer who requested that the builders place little smiley faces on tape in and around the computer.

They found quite a few.

Just DS being responsive to their customers.  Hard to find these days.

Hope you find a fantastic rig and have many years of gaming excellence. Big%20Smile
