So excited! It was one of the longest days in my life. I took pics and hope to post some up later. my config is probably not as exciting as others but I"M SO HAPPY!! My only question to users/ds employees on here is - when i looked inside one of the Noctua NH-D14 fans is at a slight angle (3-5 degrees) and not parallel with the other Noctua NH-D14 fan, is this how it's supposed to be? I've never had one of these massive fans before, but that caught my eye. just curious. thanks ds and everyone for ur advice!!

Would it be possible for you to take a picture of the Noctua so we can see exactly what you are talking about? Its possible that one of the fans is staggered, which is normal depending upon your ram. Or, its possible that the fan is crooked from shipping, a picture will clear things up.

Congrats on the rig! Big%20Smile Awesome

thanks and will do. i'll post them after i get home from work. when i say slight, it's just a bit angled but it's very apparent that they aren't parallel to each other.

Yep,  Sounds like one of the mounting clips popped out from the cooling fins.  Or, if it's offset, one fan sticking up farther than another, might be to clear RAM .

dang wish i had the pics with me. well, if you look at the fans straight on the left one is slightly angled to the left. the right one is perfectly facing me. doesn't seem like a big deal, just making sure that the fans are going to work fine.

I'll bet a simple push against the face of the fan will cause a 'click' as the clip hook on.  It'll work fine either way.

Forgot to say....Congrats on your new rigAwesome

here's pics. again, not as amazing as others you've seen, but my first DS and I'm really happy with it. Take a close look at the D-14's, the left one is just slightly angled.

Looks like shipping shocks and the sheer weight of the cooler has caused one part of the heat pipes to bend. You should be able to correct this if I am right by removing the middle fan and firmly pushing the heat-sink back to it's straight position.

If that doesn't work, feel free to contact our team so we can help you.

It should be like this:

Alex hit the nail on the head, the NH-D14 is surprisingly durable and I have a feeling you will be able to push it into place without difficulty. To be safe, you might call DS tech support so they can advise you over the phone.

They must have really slammed that thing down at some point to get it to bend like that. I've had my NH-D14 apart multiple times and it never seemed to mind my novice prodings and pullings.

Luckily, this isn't a huge issue and even as is the cooler can do its job. Congrats on your new rig! Big%20Smile

thanks guys for the tips. im not too familiar with the NH-D14, so just take out the middle fan and push the heatsink until it bends straight? I'm not supposed to push until click, we're pretty much just bending the heatsink, correct? just want to make sure i dont bust anything.

Yessir, there shouldn't be any sort of click, as its not really "popping" back into place, your just straightening the heat pipes underneath those big fins. I'd recommend sitting the machine on the ground, with the motherboard side of the case flat on the ground, then slowly applying pressure to the bent fin while holding the base of the Noctua. It would probably be even better to remove the heat sink from the mobo entirely, but that would require a screwdriver and might really not even be necessary depending on how much "give" the Noctua has.

Basically, if you feel like its bending without the force of the gods, then go ahead and do it. If it doesn't want to budge, call DS Smile

First and foremost, enjoy your system! Hahaha

Let us know if it works out, as a Noctua owner myself I'm pretty curious. Strong
