External HD/Media Question

   I have multiple external hard-drives, 3 to be exact. I use 1 for mp3s and music videos, 1 for pictures, and 1 for dvd videos I store for future burning.

My question is > I have my music videos set to "Large Icons" in windows 7, and they all load a still image or thumbnail of the video which takes some time. But when I restart my computer, occasionally the still images or thumbnails will have to reload all over again and its quite annoying considering how much I have. Is there any way to fix this from happening?
