!ender_ I agree, so I am patiently waiting and witholding my purchase until this system is ready and I can read some more details on it. My patience, however, does not keep me from checking this forum 5x a day

The Original estimate I got in the Email Alex sent me was 3 to 4 weeks, it is now down to 2 weeks or so...Im expecting something around mid month...with fingers crossed no delays are encountered and that availability wont slow down the orders It is amazing to me that I almost went to a different vendor because of a misunderstanding in the forums...Im so glad I stayed and talked it out. I am very anxious to place my order...the suspense is ... um ... suspenseful!

What we must all remember is that we want to give them time to perfect this. We don't want it rushed simply because we are so excited.

We won't rush it. But, we want to get it out ASAP so we can offer it to our customers.
It's coming along good.

It was mentioned earlier that this cooling system is CPU specific and that traditional liquid cooling would still be used for the GPU(s). I wonder how having both of these systems in the case would effect form factor. In regards to the comment that everything would be self contained with no exterior radiators.

yea i agree. possibly he meant that the normal lq rad could be outside the case and the new cooling system would be inside?

Everything will be inside the system. That's all of the radiators, etc...

Everything contained? Definitely awesome, that's a big seller for me, I don't like the look of radiators hanging off of a case. I'm normally pretty level-headed about things such as this, but, yeah I'm definitely stoked to see the results. Looks like my daily forum stalking shall continue

If I had to guess I would say it will fully be ready in 1-2 weeks. Progress on it so far has been great.

Venom is that an "Official" estimate? I was going to ask Alex for an update and ETA for the Signature build today then I saw your post.

Perhaps another week. We're still fine tuning the unit on a bench setup.

I am guessing the first one, non-prototype, won't ship out till December, I am not an employee, nor do I have any inside info, but just going by standard, business time-line.

Thats what I have been "guessing" as well Figure they might make a push to get some out for Christmas but in limited quantities.
I figure what I will end up doing is getting the Raptor for now and then swapping it out for the G3 Intel later.

Well, if does indeed not end up shipping until December, which seems plausible, I will be facing great internal struggles Knowing me, I'll end up cracking before then. I know it never makes since to play the waiting game with technology, but this particular setup has really grabbed my attention for one reason or another.

The setup has been finalized now. We're putting it into the system. We have a nice teaser picture that I'll put up shortly.
There is a lot of demand for this system, we're going to have to do some sort of pre-ordering to ensure the people that have been looking at it for quite some time now do get a system.
Anyone that is interested in this system please send me an email: Management@digitalstormonline.com and I will save your contact info to ensure we get you on our waiting list. (As a heads up, the starting price on this system is most likely going to be around $2,500-$3,000) just to let you all know.

Here's a quick disconnect fitting which had the water flowing through it while the system was idle. It just shows you how cold the fluid temp is . It's normal liquid and the tubing was hard to the touch.

Great work DS !! My guess is that as cold as this is, one could push the OC on a 980x close to 5GHz.
I'll be wanting to upgrade when the 8 core HT chips come out (when are these expected ?) and will most certainly want this extreme DS cooling and OK a more state of the art GPU as well.

@neilkaz,
You probably could, but not for a full 24-hour stable test. This isn't phase change cooling so we aren't taking about massive negative temps.
This system is going to be idea for the user who wants simply the best system possible. High CPU overclock with low idle and load temps.

basically this will achieve temps equal, to a"perfect" regular water cooling system.
"Perfect" water cooling requires either very loud, 5000+ RPM fans, and a few radiators, or a ton of radiators and quiet fans.. or one tiny radiator, and one slow quiet fan and ice ice baby dragon fluid.
Perfect water would have the fluid the same temp as ambient air, where this system could have fluid temps a degree or 2 cooler than ambient at the most, more than that, and condensation will occur.

lol justin. I'm still interested to see if that expensive fluid actually makes any difference compared to Feser1 and distilled water.
