Topic: EVENT: NVISION 2008 (San Jose, CA) Posted: 27 Aug 2008 at 6:31pm |
We had an amazing experience at NVISION. Digital Storm is a proud sponsor and exhibitor of this visual computing event and we had a great time meeting our fans and enthusiasts. We gave away a ton of prizes (totaling over $10,000) and had gamers go head to head to win some killer gear.
In summary, it was a blast and I would like to present to you, Digital Storm at NVISION:
1. There were hundreds of NVISION posters all around downtown San Jose:
2. As I mentioned earlier, we are a proud sponsor and exhibitor of this event:
3. A large majority of the press was at NVISION, we met with all of the great guys and gals behind the news media. We noticed a few of our systems on their coverage of the show:
4. All of our staff received VIP parking passes courtesy of XFX:
5. Duke, one of our senior employees was getting half of our giveaways out of our van:
6. Here is a front shot of our great booth. That's Kelly right there:
7. Here is a close up of one of our demo units that were hooked up for head-to-head combat:
8. We were the only company in the entire show showing off Intel's exclusive new blazing fast solid state hard drive:
9. Here is a shot of some of our fans that were wearing our awesome t-shirts:
10. Everyone wanted to go against the winner in our Counter-Strike tournament. Winners received: power supplies, thumb drives, or memory:
11. Even the models wanted to see what all the action was about:
12. Our senior QA manager was very happy to be with the models as you can see:
13. Here is a shot of the GeForce LAN area:
14. NVIDIA picked Digital Storm as one of the premier system builders to show off their new 3D Glasses technology. I had a first-hand experience and I was blown away:
15. Here is a shot of one third of the exhibit hall area:
16. We can't leave this event without ending with a bang, we did two massive giveaways (each on Tuesday and Wednesday):
17. Look at our fans wearing our t-shirts:
18. We tossed tons of hardware. Including three Intel Extreme QX9650 processors, five Intel Bad Axe 2 motherboards, Corsair DDR3 memory, OCZ power supplies, OCZ and Corsair thumb drives, OCZ gaming mice, and even games (Grid, Company of Heroes, Assassins Creed, and Lost).
19. We gave two of the Extreme processors by a stand-off, who ever could stand on one foot the longest with their eyes closed would win the prize:
20. This lucky person won a Digital Storm PC from our sponsored Guitar Hero 3 contest:
21. Here a shot of one of the three lucky winners of an Extreme edition processor:
I hope everyone can join us next year!
Cheers,

A lot of the models (gamer girls) were from XFX, Patriot, and Tagan. I guess they wanted to do a direct connection with the young gaming crowd. XFX had more mature models (they have the black police outfit on).

WOOOO!!!! Now that was fun!!!! 3 action packed days, 2 hours of sleep the entire time!!!
Bad news though...
On friday, I received my 790i FTW mobo from EVGA. On Monday morning, it literally caught fire. I lost a GTX280 and the 790i FTW in the process. :( This makes me really, really sad.
But I was participating in the Lan (24 hours a day for all 3 days) and as many of the conferences as I possibly could.
There were plenty of really smokin hot gamer girls here, too. That was a big suprise for me! :D
can't wait for GeForceLan 6!!!!

Man... wait.. how or why did it caught on fire O_o;?
Also.... white on white? Errr I was thinking Blue exterior and white interior. With blue cathode tubes ( Blue LED lights inside to light up the interior lol) Would that look good? I'm all up for opinions on that particular setup of aesthetics lol. (One thing though when you do a color hot damn is it strong/bold/vibrant lol) |

You guys totally PHAIL at giving out prizes by the way. How cool is it to draw someone's name for a raffle, have them come up to receive it, and then deny them the prize? Yeah, it was fun doing the little 'stand on one leg' competition, but I was also a little upset.
I was planning on donating that processor to my college gaming club, to be used in a game server. (It's currently using an old AMD, and it blew its power supply last week, so who knows if it still works.)
Oh, and throwing PSUs into a crowd of people - not a good idea. :)

Regarding the raffle for the name, I am sorry about that but, I believe when we were calling your name, we didn't hear you and you came up after we already read another persons name.
Second, we did our best to hand the power supplies. We under handed them. Some of the other companies there literally chucked them at people.
Anyways, sorry about that!.
Regards,
Alex

Alex, the right way to do it is to mail a t-shirt for free to your recent and new customers.

Definitely!
The only issue is we are practically sold out on shirts. We gave out about all 1,200 shirts at NVISION.
More are on the way. If anyone wants one now, we can get them manually printed. We will have shirts for all of you soon.
Regards,
Alex

Hey all. New guy here...
I went to NVISION with the main goal of finding a top-notch computer company to start using as a pc supplier for my own business... I'm still checking a few things out to make sure it's the right fit, but it looks like I found the company... DS all the way. And I just thought you guys should know a little inside scoop on the DS computers that were built for nvidia. I was there with a good friend from nvidia, and he told me that of all the shows they've done, and of all the custom gaming comps they've had built over the years, that this was the most trouble free, smoothest running group of comps they had ever brought to a show. He was very impressed. I think that speaks volumes about DS and their crew.
I'll be coming to visit you guys real soon!
