Dual CPU X58 motherboard pixelized
Exclusive: Not the X58 we know From what our sources are telling us, Intel is working on two versions of the X58 chipset, one for the Bloomfield/Core i7 processors with a single QPI link and another version for the Nehalem/Xeon processors with a pair of QPI links. We've managed to get a picture of what should be one of the first boards of this kind and as you can see, it looks slightly different from the dual CPU Nehalem/Xeon boards we've seen so far. It only has four memory slots per CPU for starters, although only three can be used for triple-channel DDR3 and we're not sure if anyone will use the fourth slot. As this is a server board it doesn't have the normal selection of slots and the design is quite different from what you'd expect when it comes to desktop boards and our understanding is that this board is meant for one of the big server manufacturers. The board is using a pair of socket 1366 CPU sockets and it might be possible to run a single Bloomfield/Core i7 in this board, but as these CPUs lack the second QPI interconnect it's not going to be possible to run a pair of cheap CPUs in this board. Here's a picture of the board Click image to enlarge Edited by DST4ME - 02 Oct 2008 at 5:21am |

well that is what they are saying how ever the socket is a desktop chip socket, so you could throw 2 extreme chips in there there are no deatails, but it looks like the nehalem's skulltrail, kinda.

I pity the person that decided to do that then.......
(Then again it's not as messed up as the people who post "Rick Rolled" videos of benchmark results of Triple SLI GTX 280s and so on lol. |

there are always knuckle heads trying to make things bigger then they are.
I'm not sure it is photoshoped but that cpu1 on the top right is looking a bit fishy |
