well, some good news and some bad news. lol
good news, those temps are incredible!! very very nice!!!
bad news your G-flops are at about 1/2 of what they should be so only stressing 1/2 the potential load.. Did you install my Linx, or DST's?? his has the old algorithms, and won't stress the 6 cores..

I got 15 fans my self, I got 8 140mm xigmatech fans and the rest are the same brand but 120mm, I can barely hear them, now the zalmans I have in the other pc, I can easily hear.

I think he is using the old algorithms for non 6 core CPUs. The system shipped here with GFLPS near the 80's.

I would just slow the Zalmans down, once they are to a "quiet" level, they will have just a few CFM less flow than the GT's at the same noise level.
now lets get to the important stuff.. lets get them G-flops up where they should be and then check out the temps.

Which Executable do I run?
One of the Linpack_xeon files or the LinX?
This basically looks like what I ran before.

when you run the test, do not make any adjustments, other than use max memory. make sure no ther programs are running.

Agreed; looks cramped.
Also would like to see a full sized acrylic window(s) on top and side to see the horizontal motherboard & hardware.
Perhaps the Mountain Mods Ascension?

A larger case would mean almost twice as much shipping costs for the end user. We have to balance providing a solution that is affordable to the average customer and is practical for us to ship. I agree a larger case would be nice. But hey, that's where special requests come in .

Crystal Ship Series of the Ascension is the best IMHO.
Alex why not add one of the Ascension to the config page as a choice.
how much of a difference in shipping would it be?

Well considering that shipping this thing cost about $400 before it had to go Overnight then it was about $800, not a lot of people want to pay that much for shipping. Final LinX run:

It'll be perhaps $300-$400 more in just shipping... a larger case sets the package to a special FedEx or UPS package class and spikes the cost.

I honestly will say from experience that a higher CPU overclock doesn't really increase the GFLOP's that much. I've seen the memory bandwidth and timings make the improvements. DST4ME and MagiK should compare a raw CPU performance benchmark instead that isn't influenced by the other factors. You can't really make memory go any faster or quicker than how much both of you guys already have your machines at.

LOL I'm not trying to compare my pc to his in that manner, he has a higher oc and much better temps, he wins, lol.
Ok so $400 more for shipping, for high-end users that are dropping $8000 plus, its more important to have a comfortable case (easily maneuver and reach stuff), then extra $400, maybe thats just me, but I want a bigger case for sure, and I think it would be attractive to offer that, from a customer's point of view, it kinda separates you from the others, I mean you guys have already got a syndicate section with the ufo, the Ascension can be the Mercedes of the syndicate section.
I mean look at how beautiful the ufo looks, but it needs more room, I think nice Ascension case's picture loaded would have a great look from a marketing point of view.
I'm short in room in this 800D also, next one is gonna be MM for sure, I thinking the Ascension Crystal Ship with even more lights I wish haswell was gonna be here in 2011
I think Magik's case looks like a beautiful great beast

@DST4ME, sorry if you thought I was talking about comparing your system to his. Both of your systems are excellent!
I agree about the advantages of the Ascension and we'll look into offering it for future customers down the road soon enough.

G-flops and CPU speed should scale perfectly, although it can be more challenging as you increase CPU speed.
Saying that they can't make memory any faster is kind of silly, the Uncore is at 1.5x, at 2.5x there will be a decent rise in mem bandwidth. there is a lot of tedious small sub timings that can be adjusted, but that is lots of time for not much gain.
Testing raw CPU performance, like his Physics test of 3d mark11 shows pretty low performance IMHO, over 50% less CPU power than one that has QPI speed higher, and Uncore higher. Don't get me wrong, it is an awesome rig, and is very powerful, I am just saying it could be another 50% more powerful.

I am glad to help, the downer is all the damn time it takes to get the extra performance, which will show large improvement in benchmarks, but not in day to day normal usage.

Not really looking for top benchmark scores, but I dont want easy config issues slowing me down either.
In a bit I think Ill work on capturing images of the various BIOS settings. But today Im back at work and of course everything piled up over the Christmas break soooooooo
