Note: Pictures are included! I thought I would give you guys a nice wall of text to raise your anticipation for the photos. Trust me. I love what I see.
We meet again, DS. It's my pleasure to post here once more. I posted a while back, probably around June or July, starting my journey to create a new rig for everything I want to throw at it. After months of deliberation, and a long overdue silence from the forums, I updated my post that I FINALLY ordered a Epoch.
Now, as soon as I ordered this machine, I compared build time/shipping time with a company that makes me cringe when I say the name... Alienware. I bought a machine from Alienware a few years back, only to run into nothing but problems. But you may ask, "How did DS do!? TELL US NOW."
Well, here's a rundown of the computer's journey. I ordered around early September, as a bit of a way to celebrate my birthday. ;) I counted down the days, obsessively looking at my email to see if I entered a new Phase each and everyday. Everytime I saw my machine enter a new phase, it was like Christmas all over. Overall, it took around 5 days for the computer to be fully completed, from Phase 1-7 [In business days of course].
The shipping however, was a VERY pleasant surprise. My PC shipped the following Monday after it was complete, but the delivery date was scheduled for September 24th. However, upon looking at my tracker every day, last night, I saw it's latest update get bumped up to arriving on the 21st. Very epic on both DS, and FedEx. Want to know how long it took Alienware to get my machine to my doorstep? One entire month. But DS got my machine built and shipped to me in around 10 days. That alone is enough for a stamp of approval.
Now upon getting the machine out of it's epic box, I was pretty much floored about how much protection this computer had. With all the cardboard and foam surrounding it, it could have been thrown off the FedEx truck recklessly, and the computer would STILL be in pristine condition. Another thumbs up for DS for epic packaging.
Setting the machine up was also pretty straightforward and problem free. I didn't have to re-seat any components, and everything was working at 120%.
I'm actually typing this up from my machine now, and I'm installing all my games, and programs and whatnot so I can see how this baby can handle everything. I'll be updating this post as things are tested out.
Here are the specs of my machine:

Now, the moment everyone came here to see, PICTURES! :D

I've seen the regular cardboard boxes in reviews, but to see this epic black and red box? Awesome surprise.

This box is a behemoth. I haven't received a package this gigantic in so many years. The folks who lived with me were in disbelief over the sheer size of it. XD

Case door on. One thing that really made my jaw drop was the sheer size of the Noctua D14. In pictures and videos it looks huge, but you can only see how much of a true behemoth it is in person.

Case cover is off, and that green tube of epicness is BRIGHT. It was daylight out when I took this picture, but I can't wait for nighttime, when this thing will really illuminate my room with my favorite color.

And lastly, my new DS Epoch in it's new home. The wires on the left are a mess, but the wire disaster there has been cleaned up, and I'm in a fairly cold room, so airflow is top notch, and perfect.
Some final thoughts: This machine is beautiful. It is a work of art, and it is magnificent. I WILL be adding onto this machine in the future, but for now, this machine is a force to be reckoned with, and I thank everyone who built and tested my machine, and also the folks on the forums who helped me with my build.
If you're in the market for a world class rig that has no boundaries in what it can handle, look no further than Digital Storm. You're taken care of, treated amazingly, and that machine you've always wanted, IS the machine you've always wanted.
