Budget:
[Please Type Here]
$1300-1700(Even Vanquish $1300 price is great)

I wanna know which option should I do to save money, pick up the Vanquish level 4 and replace the motherboard with a better one and possibly upgrade CPU or pick up the Virtue level 2 costing me about $1800 with almost same specs. The reason is I heard in some forums the H81 you can't over clock well with the K chip if I upgrade the CPU on that motherboard. I'm trying not to get over the $1500 threshold but I don't mind if I have to.

Seems to me that if you get the Vanquish II lvl 4, and then immediately start replacing stuff, you've wasted DS' time and some of your money.

If you really want the overclock and the other configurator stuff you'd be better served getting the Virtue and letting DS build it. They will build it and guarantee that it's 100% stable.

If you replace their parts, while it's still new, you won't have that guarantee.

Either way, keep us informed.

Alright thanks.. If I do get the vanquish I'm not going to upgrade it ASAP but I will most likely upgrade CPU later down the road when things start to slow down. And if I do that, I may need to upgrade to new mobo as I heard the H81 doesn't do well with K chip

Correct.    The H81 mobo isn't made for overclocking.   A Z87/97 would do it with a K chip.   Overclocking is nice for sure, and gives you maybe 10% in some cases, but you'll probably find the $350-400 later on not worth it, but everyone has their own needs.   That money would be a nice graphic card update next year if needed.

Just my thoughts.

I like it. Only thing is the CPU going to bottleneck the GPU in the future if I upgrade the GPU like next year ?

Doubtful.   Cpu bottleneck is overstated and is usually with a cpu a few generations older and a multi gpu setup. If the past is a good indicator, then a cpu is good for 3-5 years and a gpu about 2-3 years to stay at the same level.

Vanquish 4 is a nice gaming rig and a definite best bang for your buck but the customs do give you more options.

Hope this helps a little and keep us updated.

I agree with bprat22. You would be better off with the Vanquish Level 4. With most games you will be better off with a more powerful graphics card, then the best CPU.

The one caveat, is that I think most of us assume you are gaming at 1080p. If you want higher resolutions than that, the CPU could become a bottleneck.

Yup, I plan to just run one single monitor @ 1920x1080.
