Digital Storm Redefines the “Custom”
High-Performance PC with Aventum Digital Storm custom designed chassis, liquid cooling system
and software enables unparalleled system performance and diagnostic control, creating
the world’s most advanced PC Fremont, Calif. - (March 26, 2012) – Digital Storm, the
predominant name in computer system integration and engineering, unveils
Aventum, the first
system to feature its patent pending chassis and CES Innovations Award-winning
Cryo-TEC cooling system. Designed by Digital Storm engineers from the inside
out, Aventum’s chassis boasts a proprietary thermal exhaust chamber,
intelligent 5 thermal zone regulation and exclusive Aventum software that
controls 13 customizable fans to effectively dissipate performance inhibiting
heat. Together with the Cryo-TEC liquid cooling system that chills liquid below
0ºC, Digital Storm has designed the industry’s first truly custom high-performance
PC. The Aventum Advantage Every aspect of Aventum’s chassis has been scrutinized during months
of R&D by Digital Storm engineers who utilized thermal imaging cameras to perfect
the Aventum’s air flow design. Starting with the patent pending thermal exhaust
chamber, Digital Storm has ensured that performance diminishing heat is
contained and dispersed so it doesn’t recirculate through the system. The
Cryo-TEC liquid cooling system utilizes direct contact heat dissipation to
remove heat from the CPU and then processes that liquid through 3 massive 420mm
heat exchange radiators. System Monitoring &
Control Enthusiasts and creative professionals will delight in the
extraordinary level of automated and self-initiated system control. Digital
Storm has integrated automated regulation of five thermal zones and their
corresponding fans, all of which are monitored by individual temperature
probes. With Digital Storm’s exclusive Aventum software, users can fine-tune 13
chassis fans, monitor and regulate thermal zones, and personalize chassis LED
colors all within Microsoft Windows via exclusive Digital Storm software. Aventum’s
critical system performance information and personalized systems specs can be displayed
on an LCD screen located on the side panel. “Unlike any other chassis, Aventum’s intelligent design enables it to exceed the demands of the most power hungry enthusiasts, gamers and creative professionals,” remarked Rajeev Kuruppu, Digital Storm’s Director of Product Development. “We’ve spent months analyzing every conceivable way to effectively eliminate heat from Aventum and as a result, our engineers devised new systems that have never been attempted. Every integral component and every zone is constantly being monitored so our customers can ensure their dream machine is always delivering optimal performance.” |

I see in the configurator that it implies the cooling includes the GPU. Since DS hasn't beat the drums about Cryo-TEC cooling for the GPU then it may just be how it is worded. How about it Alex, does the Cryo-TEC now includes the GPUs?

Congratulations on designing and creating this.
The front plate looks like it's a door. And the drives are hidden inside of there. |

Stop making all this stuff I can't afford. This is why I left the forums the first time.
As my dad likes to say, I have champagne taste on a beer budget. And you know what? It hurts. Now my day is ruined. Thanks a lot. |

question, what are you guys going to do on the level 1-3 that looks to come with 1 psu since they don't have cryo. isn't that going to mess with the airflow or do you have a plan for that?
also i am curious what the aventum custom cooling entails? is that just a new version of cryo or just a normal swiftech block etc? Edited by whieb1 - 26 Mar 2012 at 12:21pm |

Yes, there is a slot for a slim slot-loading optical drive.
Will Do! :)
Thank you Frank! There are images on the gallery tab for the system.
You're right, the Cryo-TEC is only for the processor. We'll correct this typo now.
Thank you MicroPro27! The front panel isn't actually a door, it's a piece of aluminum, the optical drive is located at the top.
The power supply compartment is completely seperate from the exhaust chamber. There is actually a piece of metal that seperates the power supplies and the radiator airflow. The new Aventum liquid cooling uses larger radiators (triple 140mm based 420mm radiators) and the Cryo-TEC version uses those radiators to cool the hot side of the Cryo-TEC unit to provide even better cold side temps. |

ah nice. and i did look harder and see the "aventum cooling" isn't the cryo i see that now. i assume where the missing plate is you will just put an acrylic piece to cover the slot? ( on the back)
edit[ looks like you guys are going to use the swiftech block, what kind of res are you gonna use and where does it go inside this monster case?] Edited by whieb1 - 26 Mar 2012 at 12:35pm |

Yes, a plate will be added. We're using XSPC 420mm radiators. Two are enclosed at the bottom exhaust chamber and are used as primary. If there is a need for a third radiator, it can be mounted in the optional top of the chassis.

I have to say, the final product definitely looks better than what was demo'd at CES! Now I have a new savings goal
+1 to that. If you need concentrated South Carolina testing (it's so hot and humid here during the summer, you know, so it makes for a good stress test, honest!), then drop me a line, lol Seriously though, looks very svelte |

Really sexy looking case, and the concepts behind it look great.
I just have one issue with it. It always needs to be on your left, so you can read the display, plus the USB and such connections are on the Right side, which makes putting the case on your right a bit less optimal.
Might i suggest when you work on redesigning this for the "Aventum II" putting the display and all jacks on the top near the optical disc loading slot. |

It was designed in that way due to it being a BTX form factor. It was simply to have a different look.

Hey Alex how about some of those pics? Is it really that difficult to get a nice camera and take quality pics of the builds you guy's do on a daily basis? I know I would make it happen if I ran the show at Digital Storm. It's says hey this is what we do and we do it well here's proof.
