from what ive heard asus and major partners have already started to receive the new silicon. So they should be right on schedule or maybe early for mid march

SpyDoc, what DST4ME means is that Marvell 6Gb/s ports are a sad imitation of the real thing, they have crummy performance and compatibility/stability issues. They'll work in a pinch though, best used for optical drives and maybe conventional HDDs if needed badly enough, but keep SSDs to the native Intel 6Gb/s ports.

As for that ASUS board, JMicron ports are not Marvell ports, they are JMicron ports. JMicron ports are even worse than Marvell ports, they are horrid for performance. Looking at the link you provided I would surmise the external eSATA ports are the JMicron ports.

Yes that appears to be the case with the external sata ports.  I just included the Jmicron info because the asterisk footnote was below it, and wasn't sure that the footnote referred to the esata ports or just the marvell ports (both have the asterisk).

I hope so, my laptop is hanging on but just by a thread...damn thing gets hot at random times even on a cooling pad, just hope it last till my rig hits the porch...then its going in the trash lol

meh, its only a 299$ compaq I got on black friday from 2yrs ago, not worth saving imho!

I am looking at placing an order with DS for a i7 2600k system.  What is your back log look like, i.e. 30 orders, 60 orders, ect...  Just want to get a feel for how long it will take for you to caught up...

If you place an order now, you will not be on an extended wait time. When we get the boards in, you system will ship within our normal build times.

Emailed alex about the boards that came in, they went to people with the faulty boards in their house....yet I jumped another stage, at stage 6 now lol...not sure what to think of that, but meh.

We're updating all of the systems on the site with the new B3 revised boards. It will say B3 support chip update next to the motherboard name.

Alex, question.  Earlier in this forum, you said "(1) All customers who have purchased a Sandy Bridge system up to March 31, 2011 will receive a free extra year of warranty to ensure you do not encounter any issues in the future."
I was going to submit a order, but, the site wanted $99 for the extra year. I wrote to sales through the site on Wednesday the 2nd inquiring how to get the free extra year warranty. They have not replied.
So, as of now, my thoughts on a DS system have been lowered.
Maybe you can answer to the lack of a reply, and a lack of being able to obtain the extra year warranty.
